I loved MM also. I mean I LLOOVVEEDD OOT, but I still find MM very entertaining and extremely challenging. It is def trying to be a different type of Zelda game so it is hard to compare it to OOT. Same design of characters and same controls, but it takes a lot of constant planning to get through - like putting your money in the bank before changing days so you don't lose your rupees. MM is one of the Zelda games I feel is worth getting through to experience the story (especially so that you can experience Fierce Diety link). There is a pretty deep story to it all even though the game is shorter and seems like a mish mash at the beginning. It all comes together very nicely at the end. I thought it was short as well at first (and it is shorter than OOT) because I thought Clocktown and the area outside Clocktown were the only parts of the game. There are more levels that you have to travel to and some VERY cool things to do once you get there.
Maybe try following a walkthrough for this one as I am not one of those players who hates people who use guides. Once you get into the swing of the game you probably won't need it anymore.
A zelda Nintendo 64 question

I admit, I used a walkthrough to get through it because, like a lot of people, I just didn't get it at first and decided not to play it. It drove me nuts, however, to have a Zelda game that I didn't put serious effort into so I used a guide and really enjoyed it.

Interesting, I feel the same way. I agree with that course of action, and in fact did the same thing. Sometimes using a guide actually helps me enjoy the game, especially if I don't really have the patience for it.

baring the classics (legend of zelda nes, and link to the past) minish cap is my favorite. If you can, check out the two zelda oracle gameboy color games. Those have a similar feel to minish cap in that they do a good job to break the mold of what you think a zelda game should be. Not quite as polished, but still worth checking out.
Yes! I was wondering if someone was going to mention the Oracle series, these are possibly my favorite in the whole series, although I prefer Seasons. They are very similar to Link's Awakening but really good. I know I'm straying away from the topic but check em out if you haven't already. Also cool surprises if you link them together.

Link's awakening is one of those games i keep meaning to play but never do. It is on the short list for sure. I'm hoping that the gameboy color version aged well.

I thought MM was better than OoT. It feels like your more involved with the charecters and their daily lives and tons of side quest. i love side quest. Both are great though.
Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

Word. I get obsessed with completing/exploring EVERY aspect of a game so I tend to use a walkthrough as I play to make sure I don't miss anything. I want to get my moneys worth afterall

I'm playing Link's Awakening DX now and yes, play it! It has aged nicely, trust me. So if you enjoyed the oracle series you will enjoy Link's Awakening DX as well.

Same here. That's why RPGs drive me crazy. I usually play the game once, and then do it again with a walkthrough to get the 60% of the game I missed. Nothing annoys me more than having to do something in between events in a game with absolutely nothing to tip me off. Square does this a lot.
