No one has ruined anything theres tons of great, original and innovative content out there including games on Xbox. Problem is no one buys great original games anymore. Look at games like Okami, Madworld, Yakuza, Zack and Wiki. All great games and nobody bought them. The 360 has some great games as well you just have to sort through the bullshit to find them. Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon Condemned 1&2, Fable 2, Ace Combat 6, Dead Space, Project Silpheed are all great games, but I'm willing to bet they didn't sell nearly as well as Call Of Duty or the FPS of the month did. The customer has ruined gaming not Xbox or the industry, their just making what people buy. Most people just happen to have really bad taste when it comes to games right now. Sucks for people like us who enjoy great original IPs.

Well said. This topic is bunk - just as bunk as any console war thread. Games are games, doesn't matter what box they run on. If there have been changes in the industry, it's consumers driving it, not inanimate objects.
I agree with Corn619. Add Beyond Good and Evil and Eternal Darkness to the 'awesome, but bombed' list. Games are getting too expensive to make so fewer companies take risks anymore; especially with the precedent set by the sales of the games mentioned by Corn619. This is why there is so much homogenized crap out there. I can’t completely blame Xbox for it, I think gaming itself has changed and AAA titles now a days will be more like big dumb Hollywood movies, like GI Joe and Transformers 2. Occasionally though you will get a Dark knight,
One thing in gaming news that depressed me a bit was someone from Marvelous Entertainment stating that their game sales in Japan were abysmal. This companies resume includes Muramasa, Little Kings Story, and Rune Factory Frontier. All these games are Wii titles and represent why I like the console. They are good clever games that are unique from the typical popular titles on other consoles. Sadly, it is not what most gamers want anymore.
2002-08 the golden age? hmm...maybe but to me that would be the 90s so many consoles and so many great games and the whole sega/nintendo thing. I like the wii while its somewhat focused on casual play its actual nice to have something you can play real quick for fun and all the re releases and vc stuff is great (I love retro though of course) the 360 is sort of a poor mans pc I suppose though you could get a pc for not that much more really and I actually like the 360 with xbox live rock band/GH loads of good fps games and well really a little of everything theres a reason why myself and many others buy them again after they break. Its a good time to be a gamer imo maybe a bit expensive and nastalgia clouds things a bit of course but its certainly not a bad time
All the ladies they love me, from the bleachers they screamin
All the ballers is bouncin they like the way I be leanin
All the rappers be hatin, off the track that I'm makin
But all the hustlers they love it just to see one of us make it
I don't get why people act like the PS3 is so far behind in sales VS the 360. The 360 has sold 31 million, and the PS3 23 million. Subtract 10 mil from the 360 for the RROD and the PS3 is probably winning. Plus its kicking ass over in Japan.
