I went to Tijuana on the weekend and scored a NES2 and a Model1 Saturn with backup cart for ~25, but since it only outputs RF and my RF switch gives me a snowy picture, I'm looking to mod it. I found
this tutorial but it comes very short on pictures and instructions.
Has any of you ever done it before or know of a more detailed tutorial?

I've done it before... but I don't have images of it and I wouldn't be able to get any more detailed then that tutorial is. The mod is really as straight forward as it is in that tutorial.
If you don't want the RF modulator anymore then do this. Don't get the transistorand the 2 1.3k ohm resistors.
Next disconnect the RF modulator on both sides (in and out) completely.
Now you can use the RF out port as your composite video out, send the video that was going into the RF modulator to the 33 ohm resistor.
this pin
Next connect the otherside of the 33 ohm resistor to the video out (center part of the RCA jack).
Finally ground out the RCA jack with the 220ohm resistor (I don't remember what that jack is grounded with already... if it is a similar resistor, then don't even bother replacing it with your own resistor)
Then follow the regular directions for pulling the audio out. Remember the audio is mono on the NES, all you need to do is get a stereo headphone jack from radioshitz and wire it up as mono/stereo (the directions will be on the box). Ground it off anywhere... no need for an amplifier on it because your going to be splitting it out to a TV which amplifies it.
If you want to use headphones with that jack you will have to buy a headphone amplifier... there cheap and really small and come with directions as well.
You're the one who built that Arcade stick right? I'd think just putting some trust into that inherrent skill of yours instead of a tutorial will assist in getting you threw it.

an "NES1" or "original" NES or "toaster" is the traditional front loading console. you slide the cart in an press it down before powering up
the cart reader on these are having problems after 25 years of use, but they do have rca composite video out
the "NES2" or "toploader" was a smaller console that had the cart slot on the top, there are pics of it in the tut that Pullmyfinger posted. toploaders cart slot is alot more dependable, as it doesn't have the moving parts but nintendo did drop the RCA out to save cost in production, thus depend on the RF out, which sucks, ie thats why if anybody actually wants to use one, they mod it.
the toploader was sold alongside the SNES when it was new, same business model as those slimline PS2s that came out last holiday season. toploaders also came with the "dogbone" controllers. they have the shape of an SNES pad, but are buttons of an NES, they are a bit better on ergonomics.
