Something interesting
Is it just me, or does it seem that the N64 is getting more popular, again? At my high school, I think that the 4 most popular consoles are the 360, PS3, PS2, and the N64. Why do you think this is? I believe it is the renewed popularity of pokemon here ( no joke) the cheapness of games, and/or it's pretty much the best party multi player system that is a local network.
Re: Something interesting
I haven't really noticed anything out here. People seem to like ragging on the ol' 64, but I don't really understand why. The criticisms are almost always hardware based, which seems like a silly argument nowadays. I absolutely agree about it being the best on spot multiplayer system though.
Re: Something interesting
The N64 never stopped being a big console with my friends. Despite having dozens of other consoles, including all seven of the big ones released since then, the N64 still gets alot of play. New joysticks in my controllers every couple years help I guess. Mario Kart 64, Goldeneye, Battle Tanx Global Assault, WCW vs NWO Revenge, and Pokemon Stadium are staples of our game nights.

I think you're right. But since you're still in High School, it's because that was the main system everyone grew up with. Strangely, there's a pokemon renewal here, too. But it's one of my favorite systems.

Yep, tis me. Pokemon stadium and golden eye are huge. We always bring N64 to model UN with all the best multiplayer games.
Next trilogy night (our model UN fund raiser that is pretty much a LAN party) I am bringing my SNES and owning some fools in SF 2 turbo. I am staring to get the hang of it.
The N64 just doesn't seem to want to stop being awesome, I guess.

Re: Something interesting
I grew up with SNES and the N64, and my friends always enjoy when I bring it over to their houses when we get the urge to play some amazing multiplayer that even some of today's games can't rival.
Re: Something interesting
i love the N64. my first system owned by me! actually i still have the very same one from when i was little and i still play it now and again. in my high school its just 360 really. then again its summer vacation for me now and i haven't seen most of the people. but they will be out of it soon. its just a fad thing (not saying N64 is a fad just implying that their interests will wander again). for instance, i remember when people started bringing in Pokemon with a gameboy colors last year. although i didn't join since i was too busy with other games.

The Nintendo 64 was an awesome console so many great classics especially from Rare like Conker Bad Fur Day, DK 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Goldeneye 007, and the Nintendo titles like Super Mario 64, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.. It is still one of my favorite consoles all-time...
