I live in Seattle, Washington. Here are some of the places I frequent:

Al's Music, Video, & Games:
Neighborhood: University District

PROS: Good selection with all kinds of systems supported. I've even seen Colecovision and Odyssey stuff sold there. They often have good prices or cheap bargain bins.
CONS: The store is dingy and messy. When they know something is rare, they put in a special display case and jack the price up higher than it is on amazon/ebay. This may be a pro for some, but they have porno dvds right next to the videogames, which means you have guys behind you getting turned on while you flip through the gamecube games.

Second Time Around

PROS: 10% student discount with your student ID! Wide range of retro stuff- dreamcast, saturn, genesis, snes, nes, psx, etc. Good prices.
CONS: The game selection has been dwindling lately and they hardly get anything new in anymore. I keep seeing the same lame games there every time I visit. Also, the store is kept in poor shape and the employees sometimes leave the store and lock the door at random times and don't come back for 30 minutes. This sucks if you drove out there and weren't just in the neighborhood.

PROS: Good pricing. Decent selection.
CONS: No parking lot and downtown Seattle is a bitch when it comes to finding parking for a reasonable price. Also, I don't think they get any more retro than PS2 & Xbox.

Game Town

PROS: AWESOME selection of rare titles and lots of rare stuff. If you can't find it anywhere else, try Game Town. They have a ton of rare stuff you just can't find elsewhere.
CONS: You guessed it-- price. There are no price tags on anything. You take the game to the counter, the manager researches prices online, then charges you too much for it. I would only go to this shop if there was a rare title that I just HAD to have.

Everyday Music
Neighborhood: Capitol Hill

PROS: Cheap games with heavy discounts on skuffed discs.
CONS: Slim pickins. This is an incredible music store (probably the best in Seattle) that just happens to carry a few games. Don't expect to find a lot.

There are also a lot of GameStop and Game Crazy locations around here, and one new Play N Trade. The Alderwood mall actually has two Game Crazy stores inside and one across the street. It's a good place to go if you're trying to find something in particular, though they all price the same.

The Game Crazy stores do have location specific sales though. They are often quite good. They pretty regularly sell games at 3 for $10 and sometimes even 2 for $5. Unfortunately, the best one (Lake Forest Park on Bothell Hwy) just closed and I don't know if it will relocate.

None here. We had a CD/Game exchange but they closed down. They sucked anyway, they had Metroid for $20 and a untested Saturn missing one cord for $60. They sucked.

I was already beat to Hocus Pocus. 0_o There is a decent store in east lansing, forgot the name. They stock some decent stuff, but they are somewhat expensive. It's on Grand River ave.

There's a really great place in Tullahoma, TN called Geeks Etc.
There was a place in Huntsville, Alabama called The Player Two a long time ago that I occasionally visited as a child, but one year, we went and it was gone. That was the greatest game store I had ever seen, shame.

Newbury Comics - Several locations, really only good for this generation and last.
Bullmoose - Salem NH, good for PS1 to present. http://www.bullmoose.com/
Salem flea market has three dedicated sellers that sell nothing but games retro to present. Well one of them also sells wrestling toys.

I dont know what is in Mass but I live like 3 miles from Salem NH.

You guys are making me jealous, there are round about none. If I travel into birmingham there are 2 markets stalls in the Bull ring, one has loads of cheap games and a small selection of overpriced hardware the other has some of the rarer games and an even smaller selection of hardware.

Neither are really worth making a special trip for. Oh how I miss Gamestations retro sections.
