Need a Phantasy Star Online access key

Post by CAv »

Hey everybody! A while back I obtained a copy of Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast, but I cannot play it. It prompts me to enter a code before starting the game, a code which should be on the case or in the manual, and I have neither the manual nor the original case, so I was wondering if anybody would like to help me out and send me a valid code. Please help me out here.

Mod Edit: changed subject of thread, please be more descriptive with subjects, "Help!!" ironically doesn't help anyone I'm afraid.

Well even if you were to obtain a code you wouldn't be able to play it online due to all the servers are gone. I am also not sure how to play on private servers but you may wanna try those.

Sorry I wasn't of more help.

You're not talking about a hunter's license, are you?

EDIT: It's also still possible to play online, just not on SegaNet. I don't know what servers folks are using nowadays, though.

EDIT ONCE AGAIN:
Wikipedia wrote:As of late July 2008, Sega removed the Hunter's License (HL) server from the internet. As a result of this, it is not currently possible to play Dreamcast versions other than NTSC/U v1, PAL v1 and PAL v2 online other than by using Action Replay codes to bypass the Hunter's License check. The Gamecube, Xbox and PC versions are unaffected by the removal of the server.

My copy of Phantasy Star Online (bought brand new from a store years and years ago) has a little card in that has 2 codes on it. It's separate from the manual so chances are the person that owned it before you threw it away or lost it.

This was put into place to stop people downloading a copy of the game and going online. You are still able to play the game without entering the code, you just can't go online.

I think some versions of the game won't allow you to get passed this screen (I think the NTSC versions don't let you passed without entering a code, my PAL copy does, it just didn't let you online without it).

However you are in luck. Here is the generic code that works for Offline play only (which is all you need anyway since the official servers went down a long time ago and you don't need verification to use something like SCHThack).
PSO Ver1 NTSC
Serial: 17DFA62B
Access: 000000000

PSO Ver2 NTSC
Serial: 4E62F237
Access: oWur4WJg

Actually for future use; here are the serials keys for PAL PSO ver1 and PAL PSO Ver2

PSO Ver1 PAL
Serial: 1A9A2948
Access: Xtre4Fux

PSO Ver2 PAL
Serial: E4367CA4
Access : 5YWXZG3D

Thanks for your help! I'm gonna try this tomorrow. I do own an NTSC version, and it will not let me past that screen without a code.

I reccomend getting the DC-Talk autoconnect disk for PSOv2 PAL. It's what I use, and it's really easy to use, especially with a good connection.
