i'm confused to the way a lot of these emulators run...they're not like normal easy ones where you just download the game and start playing it...
1. what are all the extra files i need to download before i can start playing a game? (ie. bios files, ram cartridges, etc.)
2. if i download an iso in bin/cue format is that good enough?
also, saturn cases look really bomb! i wanted to print some cover art on dvd cases and stuff just so i can have a cool collection on my shelf. can i just rip the bin/cue of a game to a cd-r and then boot it from the emulator without doing anything special?
thanks a lot
a few questions about saturn emulation
Re: a few questions about saturn emulation
You're right, Saturn emulation is a little bit more complicated. First off, use SSF, which is far and away the best Saturn emulator.
1. All you need to download are the bios files for the Saturn. There are 3 bios files, each corresponding to a region (NTSC,PAL,Japan). Personally, I would download them all in case you ever need them. Obviously you'll need games as well, but how you go about getting those is your own concern.
2. No. You're going to need to mount the iso in a cd drive emulation program (Daemon Tools, Alcohol) so that it can be read by SSF. Fortunately you can convert a bin/cue to an iso by changing the file extension (for example: you'd change "game.bin" to "game.iso").
3. Yes, you can just play the games from cd. I can't remember if it's necessary to change the files to an iso for this, just copy the file and give it a shot both ways.

Re: a few questions about saturn emulation
If you're mounting in Daemon Tools then you don't need to convert from bin/cue to ISO. It'll show up the same on the virtual drive.Dylan wrote:2. Oh wow, you're right. It's been a while since I fired it up, especially considering the fact that Daemon tools 4 absolutely refuses to run on my computer (error code 14, of course).MrPopo wrote:If you're mounting in Daemon Tools then you don't need to convert from bin/cue to ISO.
