Looking at the release schedule for the ps2 there seems to be quite a few 'retro' like titles coming out for it in it's final days.
Metal Slug Anthology - mar. 26
Red Star - mar. 27
Raiden 3 - apr. 17
Odin Sphere - may 25
Taito Legends - TBA
- sadly this one may not see a release in NA

When I had a PS2, I got around to trying the top 30 rated titles for it at the time. Hated about 26, if I remember. Aside from Colossus, I never felt like I was experiencing something new.sv650touring wrote:Whether you love or hate Sony, only a fool would deny the PS2 has an awesome library.

Isn't it funny that the PS2 is ending this way considering how Sony hated these types of games originally.
Red Star is definately worth mentioning as it an old-school style brawler/shooter that has been forever delayed/canceled. It was supposed to be on the XBox (there was even a demo), but the publishing fell through.

I've played the non-demo version of The Red Star on xbox about a year ago. I didn't know it wasn't released/published here, but it was a decent game. I only played it a little, but my friend said it was pretty fun. He got it because at the time, he'd just download any game ever. Actually I think he still does that, and he has somewhere around 150 xbox games.
i totally agree with this statement. there are at least 100 titles that i would consider worthy reasons to own a ps2.sv650touring wrote:Whether you love or hate Sony, only a fool would deny the PS2 has an awesome library.
granted there are like 600 or so that make you want to throw it out the window, but hey, nobody's perfect.
The ps2 has a great library and yes a bad one at the same time.
I have more ps2 games than any other console. 56 and counting with a want list about 30 titles long. This will definitly grow before I am done picking them all up.
About The Red Star if you own a ps2 you should own a copy of this as well. Perfect old school gaming.
