Video Games Are a White Man's World

One last note on this article: I told my wife about it and as she so often manages to do, she cut through all of the sociological jargon and bullshit and simplified things quite a bit, commenting that "uh, yeah it's because a bunch of white boys make the games." Humorously enough she used to date a game developer.

Actually, it's usually a bunch of japanese boys that make the games, and oddly enough you don't see very many japanese men in games either. A lot of times, even the characters that are supposed to be Japanese look like white people. I've always found it weird that so many games made in Japan featured so many white characters.

It's because Mario was the first man of gaming. All in-game characters are just Mario clones with minor tweaks to not be copyright infringement.

Black people are HUGE gamers, they just mainly play sports games thats all. But that tends to lead them into the video game world so they end up playing other types of games.

That's true, many of the best fighting game players I've known in Auburn where African American. We also had a few black guys in our gaming club, including one guy who worshiped the mini gun. Seriously, it didn't matter what game were were playing, he got a mini gun. Even if there weren't any in the game, he'd get his hands on a mini gun. And a robot skin.

Well, not to tickle my own fancy, but I'm sorta top here. Actually a black dude won EVO. And another black dude "forgot his name" is the champ at MVC 2. I don't know what it is with black guys and MVC2 but I have a pretty damn good record.

Hey man, it's cool. Truthfully, I can beat a couple of them in certain games, though one of them is quite possibly the greatest fighting game player I've ever seen, as well as one of the nicest. He's genuinely playing because he likes it, and his game of choice is Virtua Fighter. Oh man, the stuff I've seen him do is nasty. I can keep up with him when he plays his secondary characters against my main, but his Kage is just wrong.
