Budweiser. A cold beer or 3 after work on a hot day really hits the spot. I like caesars too if they're made right. As for stiff drinks, I like rye & ginger, yukon jack, spiced rum & coke, or on special occasions, a bit of absinthe for a clear-headed drunk.

I don't drink these days, but when I did, I was a gin and tonic man. I'm surprised so many people don't drink here. I usually can't get away from it. I stopped drinking about 2 years ago and ever since then I've been surprised at just how central alcohol is to almost any social event I get invited to.

I don't drink
but if I did, I would drink Smirnoff Ice or Chivas Regal
Just for the looks of them.

I just have to ask about beer. Why do a lot of people like to drink beer, and in huge amounts(you can't even drink that much of water!) , when its taste totally sucks.
I tried a non-alcoholic once and I can't do more than a sip. Flavored ones are amazing beverages though.

I really don't get all the alcohol abstention across all these posts (and the general distaste for beer).

I have a drink or three pretty regularly without drinking to get buzzed or even drunk (that only happens a few times a year) and without drinking bad-tasting drinks. I drink alcoholic beverages because I enjoy the taste - different drinks pair perfectly with different foods and really can enhance the whole experience of eating. If you've given up on alcohol because of the taste or because you think the only point of drinking is to get drunk then maybe, as the meme goes, "you're doing it wrong."

Sure, I didn't like the taste of beer at first when I was introduced to it in my mid-late teens, but like many other drinks (e.g. wine, scotch, etc.) and fine foods (e.g. exotic cheeses) it takes some time to acquire a taste for it. So although when i was 18 there were only a few beers i could get past my nose, I now consider myself a bit of a connoisseur.

That said, I like the stronger tasting beers - a nice hoppy IPA is generally my favorite but I also appreciate a good stout. When I am just drinking to have a few beers, I will go with a darker lager. I find that my choice usually dpeends on my food and the weather. If I want to get drunk, then I drink the cheap stuff (my normal picks being Miller Lite or Labatt Blue Light).

I also drink lots of different kinds of liquor, my favorite being a well-aged single-malt scotch.

Duck Rabbit is a local brewery that makes a killer Brown Ale, and an amazing Milk Stout. If I'm having friends over, I usually just pick up some Miller Lite. It's cheap, but it still tastes like beer. It all depends on what I'm in the mood for.

Laphroig is my liquor of choice. I've had dozens of different varieties of Scotch, but Laphroig takes the blue ribbon. As soon as you uncork the bottle, the aroma of peat will fill an entire room. I usually get the 12 year old bottle, which can run anywhere from $60 to $80usd. If I'm going to have bourbon, I usually pick up Russel's Reserve. It's really clean, with a smooth finish.

As far as Jack Daniels go, I would only use it in cooking or as paint thinner.

I dont drink often, a couple times a year maybe - holidays, maybe a party, and Dragoncon. But when I do a rum and coke or wine usually wins out.

And since I cant help myself:
I dont always drink beer, but when I do its Dos Equis
