Closeout Cube games

Post by Perseid »

Just giving you guys a heads up. I've noticed the major online retailers, particularly Gamestop, seem to be clearing out their GC games. Extra Kongas are going for $5 new, for example. So I guess if you're looking to get those last few Cube games for your collection, now is the time because you may not be able to as easily soon. Too bad. Poor little Gamecube.

Hmm...how many GC games were ever released? My brother has like 75+ plus sitting in his room....70 or so of which he hardly ever played...or never played at all.

I'm surprised they are getting rid of the GC games since they can be played on the Wii, I would think they would keep them around for awhile longer.

I'm hoping to pick up the broadband adapter and the ALL FOUR games which support online play. The 3 PSO ones, and that one Japanese one called HomeWorld or something. The later actually looked pretty interesting - you can build your own online RPG for up to 30 players online at once.

Nobody seems to think anything of marketing Gamecube games as Wii games. But I guess the same goes for PS1 games on the PS2.

But I did stock up on 4 sets of Bongos and some other games like Battalion Wars, Chibi Robo, Donkey Konga 2, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, and Killer7.

I've noticed most major retailers have minimal gamecube games. The ones they do have aren't all that great but discounted for sure. Good thing my gamecube collection is almost complete.

Perhaps it's time to do a 'Hidden Gems for Gamecube' :P

Killer 7 is such a great game. I love the stylised graphics and the crazy story. I also picked it up recently for $9.99 new, from Game Crazy.

I also noticed that Game Stop has Geist for $9.99 brand new. Anyone played that? Looks ok, especially for 10 bucks.

For 10 bucks? Definately worth it. It may not be the best FPS on the market, but it had some interesting points and the whole shost part of it is fun. Plus, 16x9 and 480p, so you're good to go! :D

In fact, I just bought two DK bongos from GameStop and the following from amazon:
Geist new: $7.29
Baiten Kaitos with free CD new: $10.39
Evolution Worlds new: $14.67
Mega Man Battle Network Transmission like new: $8.00
DK Jungle Beat w/Bongo new: $23.47

Or somethin' like that. With spring break starting after next week, I'm going to have fun finishing MMBNT and EW, replaying Geist, and playing DK Jungle Beat and Baiten Kaitos! :D

Honestly I would get a Wii(if you can, of course) over a Cube now since the Wii plays all the Cube games anyway. The only reason to get a Cube now is if you also get a Gameboy Player.
