Chris Huelsbeck is a very talented musician. There's also an enhanced version of the soundtrack Super Turrican for the SNES.

Awesome game! Having my 16 bit roots based on PC I played the hell outta the Amiga to DOS port of Turrican 2 a few years before I found out about Mega Turrican for Genesis. That kinda spoiled it a bit but it's a really solid platformer. Pretty much any Turrican game is truly impressive - pushing the hardware to make some incredibly high FPS Large spritecount gameplay. Even the GB mono port is true to the original. I'm amazed it doesn't get more credit than it does. Maybe it's th european artstyle or something but I've always loved the gameplay and powerup system. The only gripe I have is the damage system. There's no feedback. An enemy or bullet will sit inside your hitbox and eat away at your life till you're dead and unless you move a bit you just keep having your HP rapidly melted away.

Yeah...no shit :P . I have all of his soundtracks, and rips from most of his games. The dude is one of my favorite composers.

So is the same game as Super Turrican? Which version is better?

It's a 100% different game than Super Turrican. Mega Turrican is actually the Genesis port of Turrican III on the Amiga. An inferior port, at that. But still very playable. The soundtrack was completely arranged, by Chris Hulsbeck, to fit that "Genesis" sound. And he did a great job too, in my humble opinion.

I used to have Super Turrican long ago, and I really enjoyed playing it. Is it better than Mega Turrican? I'd say so due to the SNES's superior sound chip and graphics. Both are very good, though.

There are two Super Turrican games. The first is an NES game released in '92. It was the last Turrican game that Manfred Trenz developed.

The second is an SNES game released in '93. It was developed by the now defunct Factor 5. While this game features a rearranged version of the Mega Turrican soundtrack optimized for the superior SNES sound chip, this game is entirely different to Mega Turrican.
