I'm revising the list for the "Best PS1 Games Under $10" and wondering if I should still have the following games on the main list or bump them down.
What do you think?
Gran Turismo 2
Tekken 3
Syphon Filter Trilogy
Should I Feature These PS1 Greats on the Best Under $10?
Re: Should I Feature These PS1 Greats on the Best Under $10?
GT 2 and Tekken 3 YES. I love both of these.
Syphon Filters are a little hit or miss though. Some people like them and some people hate them. Then there are people like me that despise them.....

Games like Tekken and Gran Turismo that have gone on to see bigger and better sequels are not what I am looking for when I use this website.
If a series of games is popular, then I'm already aware of it and with games like Tekken or Gran Turismo where the basics of the game are still played the same, but options/graphics/sound are all improved, then I often don't feel any need to play them at all because they aren't as good as the later installments (I don't feel the same about games that changed how they are played as time went by, like Mario or Zelda. I think there is something unique to gain from playing the retro versions).
What I like about the racketboy guides is that they point me in the direction of stellar games on a system that I missed out on. If I played the bigger&better sequel, I don't feel like I'm missing out. I think you should put some games in there that provide an experience only the playstation 1 can provide: Blaster Master, Silent Bomber, Crash Bandicoot, etc.

Cool -- keep the comments coming
And if you think there are other big name titles that don't deserve to be listed, lemme know.
I think MGS holds a solid spot though.

MGS1 for sure...also I'd say VR missions are worth a mention.
I'd say go with the syphon filter trilogy. It's a great series that was really ahead of it's time.

Yes, I agree with Metal Gear Solid. It had a great story line that I preferred over MGS2, even if there were improvements to graphics, sound, & espionage techniques in the sequel.

Exactely what I think. Crash Bandicoot is so aweome, I really liked the muiltiplayer games too, like Crash Bash and Crash Team Racing. He use to be so cool... not so much now, but back then I felt that Crash > Mario.J T wrote:Games like Tekken and Gran Turismo that have gone on to see bigger and better sequels are not what I am looking for when I use this website.

i like the addition of syphon filter.
it was one of the progenitors of the stealth genre, although it was kind of like metal gear solid's homelier little sister.

My thoughts exactly, well worded.J T wrote:Games like Tekken and Gran Turismo that have gone on to see bigger and better sequels are not what I am looking for when I use this website.
