this is like beating a dead horse. in fact, the horse probably finished decomposing and is just a pile of bones, and i'm continuing to beat that pile of bones. we all have gripes about ebay, with its usurious commissions, ridiculous policies, and idiotic buyers. i'm just venting here.

i sold an insert and instructions for marvel vs capcom 2 on ebay. i clearly stated that the auction did not include a disc. now the buyer wants a refund, because she thought she was buying the disc too.

i thought reading was fundamental.

yeah, that would be great. And by the way, when it was clearly there, you are not obliged to refund her. And when she leaves you a negative feedback, just tell it to somebody from the staff and they will solve it...because she is the one who is wrong. I would never refund her.

Was your picture just of the insert and instructions?
I've seen a few misleading auctions because of the picture.

When ever I see something that looks like too good of a deal
(I'm guessing the inserts didn't go for as much as the actual game)
I check out the wording.

People do need to read before they agree to bidding.

maybe you guys can tell me if i was in the wrong. do you guys think it was noted prominently enough that i'm only selling the insert and instructions? maybe it needs to go somewhere other than the auction's subtitle?

at any rate, i offered her a partial refund (less ebay fees and shipping costs), but haven't heard back yet.

god, that's a long story. :lol:

i have an 11 year old cousin to whom my family and i gave a $200 gamestop gift card on his birthday. for some reason, he prefers to just keep his games in a DVD binder and throw out the peripheral stuff (he does this with ALL his systems--including those gorgeous nintendo DS game cases).

i told him to just give me the peripheral stuff that came with whatever he bought with his gift card, instead of throwing them out.

free listing month on ebay comes around, and i figure i have nothing to lose by listing them.

I would have put "Inserts & Instructions" in the title -- and maybe use an image of what they are actually getting.
To be fair, the little disclaimers is kinda buried under that stock info and you use a stock image.
These people are probably rushing through trying to find deals. While you DO say the facts, you'd probably save yourself some headaches by being more obvious.

hmm, i guess i was wrong that the description did its job.

do you guys think the partial refund i offered was fair? should i rescind and offer a full refund instead?

now i feel bad about the thread title. i'm changing the title to something more neutral.

It seems like the buyer wasn't the only one who made a mistake. There were plenty of bidders on the auction. Having the stock photo and then the lengthy description of the game don't help.

If you put in the title, NO GAME, I think that would make it clearer.
