Donkey Konga 1 or 2?
Hey I'm planning on picking up Donkey Kong 1 or 2 for a fun casual game to play with my wife. She loved Guitar Hero, she's a drummer at heart, and she's a very casual gamer. Which would you grab? The first or the second? And why?

I have both but I haven't played them enough to develop a preference.
I'm planning to pick up the PAL & J versions in the future since they have different songs.
My recommendation would be to look at the song list for each version and see which you like better.
The following link covers the entire series. Click on the individual DK game to see the song list for each region.

Thanks, gt. Unless anyone has any thoughts on the actual gameplay of one over the other, Volume 1 has Devo for the win!

I haven't Played DK2, but I have the first game, and it was really fun. I've seen a couple bad reviews about DK2, but like I said, I don't have any opinions on it. I'd go for the first one. The second one has proven much more difficult to find, so this may be the easier and cheaper option.

Both games are available at the Gamestop near me. Both are the same price. ($9.99), but most likely I'll grab the first one. Unless the 2nd really is hard to find, in which case maybe I'd be wiser to get the rarer one?

Do both include the bongo? Here's something to consider:

Just figured I'd mention that.

You can actually play it with the controller, but thats just silly.
gtmtnbiker already gave you the advice I was going to. I own Donkey Konga 1&2 (US) and Donkey Konga 3 (Japanese), but need to pick up one of PAL ones. They are not the most indepth games, but man they can be fun.

I liked both Donkey Konga 1 and 2 and own both.. It really comes down to what music selection between the two games you like the best. The gameplay is the same and didn't change between the two titles from what I remember...
