My novelty controllers.
Re: My novelty controllers.
I'd brought up the idea for an article before. It's a lot of material though, so I'd have to figure out a way to condense it (based on the length of most articles, at least). I've always wanted to test my various controllers with various games they weren't intended for (like the fishing rod with Soul Calibur), but that'd be a hell of a lot of testing, plus the fact that my game purchases don't typically revolve around my controllers (the whole utility thing again). I'll open up a document some day soon to see what I can come up with.

Re: My novelty controllers.

Re: My novelty controllers.
The only difference is really that you're wagging a stick instead of pressing buttons (up is triangle, down x, etc.). It feels better, but it won't make the controls any clearer. It's actually a very good game, but the learning curve is steep and the game is quite hard.

I actually played Gradius IV with the Beatmania controller. It's playable, but not for long. The turntable moves the ship up and down, one of the buttons fires, redeems power ups, and moves your ship backwards. We couldn't find the button to move it forward IIRC.
signature temporarily offline due to fixed width constraints and anger
Re: My novelty controllers.
It has arrived. The controller does make the controls a little easier, except for the right stick/square/circle...
It's kind of small... Like half the size of twinsticks. The sticks are very unergonomic.

Re: My novelty controllers.
I'll do it for Puss in Boots, but only for him. I've been meaning to for ages now, but the combination of getting all the controllers together, taking pictures, uploading them, and editing my first post (and bumping the thread to note that I edited it) is just so bothersome!
