Night Moves
1975
Arthur Penn
A good film w/ Gene Hackman. Not that good, but still good. Like, it's a pretty real life movie so it can only be so good. I.e. it's not very orchestrated, Gene Hackman pretty much just carries the pic. It's good. It's like, the more I watch movies I realize that what makes a movie good is not what it is, but what it implies or suggests.
What was the last movie you've seen?

Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for me.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
This may seem kind of odd, considering my tastes, but I finally sat down and watched Enter the Dragon all the way through. I'd seen parts of it, but never the whole thing, so I decided it was time to remedy that. And I'm glad I did, as I absolutely loved it. Sure, it was pretty cheesy, and every Bruce Lee trademark you can think of was represented. And yeah, I'd seen most of that film parodied, paid homage, or simply stolen in so many other films I've watched. But to watch the whole thing from one end to another, to see Bruce Lee at his absolute best...it was worth it to me. A definite must for any fans of Lee, martial arts, or action films in general.

The Big Lebowski: Surreal, hilarious, and a great experience.

THE HANGOVER. I lol'd. But it is a little difficult to enjoy a movie when you have to translate everything to someone who is watching it with you. That movie would never be released in Japan, so I had to turn to torrents. :\

Watchmen
I have never seen such garbage ever before, worst superhero movie ever. Even the remade superman was better and that was rubbish.

Twlight.
No kidding. It's so bad that at first you can't laugh at it. And everytime they jump you can clearly see the rope. Wow.

Fists of Fury (The Big Boss)
I wish I could have seen it subbed, but my grandfather only had the dubbed version on VHS. Some of those voice actors have no emotion whatsoever. Either way, Bruce Lee was amazing.

The Chinese Connection: More Bruce Lee, more amazing action, more crappy dubs.

This week I saw Moon and Away We Go.
Moon is stellar. Old-school sci-fi with moral questions about technology and without explosions and aliens. Really recommend this one - I think any geek would like it.
Away We Go is pretty funny - funnier than the previews let on (they make it look like a quirky romantic comedy which is kind of is but its actually a little raunchier/more real than that).

Never seen it before? The Coens are my favorite filmmakers, by far. They turn desperate human stupidity into an art form.Reverend wrote:The Big Lebowski: Surreal, hilarious, and a great experience.
