It could just be some kind of a lame ass Sega "All Stars" game (sort of like the poor attempts at Mario Party/Kart/etc.) that has characters from top Sega franchises like Sonic, NiGHTS, Virtua Cop, Phantasy Star, and so on. The magazine could have just used the NiGHTS cut out symbol to get people to buy more copies next month with a WORLD EXCLUSIVE!
I don't know. I'm just looking at the glass half empty as far as my once beloved Sega goes these days.
But enough of my stupid conspiracy theories, I'm tired and need to quit my rambling...

I went back recently to play Christmas NiGHTS to see if nostalgia was driving me or if there was real magic there after all. The good news is that there is some magic in the NiGHTS formula and it's not all nostalgia. That said, sometimes the graphics can get a little muddled and the game could use just a tiny bit more polish. While the Sega-made F-Zero was a little more arcade-style and hard-core than traditional F-zero fans were used to, it was beautiful and well-balanced. Seeing a rehashed NiGHTS on a modern console like the Wii would lend it some extra value for skeptics as long as the gameplay is there.
Besides, we don't have to worry about Sega programming it. Wasn't part of the rumor that a developer who recently left a major company was programming it? I mean, the rumor really hints that it's Yuji Naka's new company and that this will be their premiere product and first entry to the market.

"Confirmed" may be too strong of a word

I am still skeptical, since I've never even heard of livenintendo before, and I don't see a press release of any sort, so I really wonder how this site has confirmed anything. We've seen sites "confirm" this before, like when that fan-made intro trailer came out, and when screenshots of that GBA NiGHTS mini-game surfaced.
Well, Yuji Naka and his new studio, lying dormant and quiet for, what, over a year now, haven't come out to issue any sort of rebuttal. And saying publicly "We do not have a NiGHTS title in development at this time," certainly wouldn't tell us anything about the soon-to-be-released title except that it's not NiGHTS. Given Yuji Naka's feelings about NiGHTS, I would think he would leap to put down false rumors.
Note, his silence is not confirmation, but it is cause for hope.

Demonoid claims Sega has nothing to do with this one. They said Sega handed it off to someone else.marurun wrote:Well, Yuji Naka and his new studio, lying dormant and quiet for, what, over a year now, haven't come out to issue any sort of rebuttal. Still waiting on an actual press release...

If they release NiGHTS on Wii, I will buy a Wii and NiGHTS. If it is good, I will be happy and blow a bunch more loot on NiGHTS swag. If they f*** it up, then I will make one warranty claim after another (on the Wii hardware) just to get my little bit of revenge on them.
Right or wrong, I will give Nintendo the credit or the blame.
