Sega 32x.

Post by KholdStare »

Okay, so I bought a Sega 32x recently. It came complete with a few games, good deal, but one problem.....the cords doesn't fit. I use a model 1 Genesis because my model 2 is broke. I also inserted the 32x into my model 1 and it doesn't connect well. Are there cords especially for the model 1?

There's an adaptor to use it with a Model 1, but they're becoming increasingly rare to find on their own ($20-$30) the best way to get one would be to find a lot on eBay with a 32X already attached to a Model 1 Genesis.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

Here's a link to one of the guy's selling a few on eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Sega-Megadrive-1-Ge ... %3A50#shId

He ships from the UK, but only charges about $3 to ship it to the US as it's such a small part.

Thats not an official one, not that it should make too much of a difference as far as playability. I also bookmarked this site:

That cable can be used, but maybe just for Model 2 to 32x. I sold a few official model one cables for $15 each on ebay, so I guess that linked on is reasonable, but you can get a model 2 system for the same price as the cable.

You can't just use DIN or Mini-DIN cables as they have one extra pin over the official ones which do not have a 5v pin going to the 32X.

The cheapest way is to buy yourself another Model 2 Genesis. You can probably find one at a flea market for about ten bucks; that's much cheaper than the 32x model-two-to-model-one cable.
