columbia, sc anyone?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

"WTF is a VHS?"
Seriously? They still sell VHS in some places ( happen to still buy on occasion).

"This Ghost In The Shell thing sucks."
If they think thats boring, try watching both Patlabor movies. But, i do enjoy the Patlabor films, there fantastic.
"You mean this is from the 80's/90's/Last Year?....Lame."
Which is why i stay away from new stuff.
"Why read the manga when they made an Anime?"
Any book is better than the anime, in some cases (I like the Gunsmith Cats anime even though its stand alone from the manga).
"Wait, Street Fighter had an Anime? That's retarded, everybody knows Street Fighter has no story."
Yea, there is ALOT that goes on in the Street Fighter universe.

These are what people ACCUALLY SAID to you? My god, what has happend to fandom. Thats like if comic book fans didnt want anything to do with the original series of comics, its blastfamy.

Well, i did noticed that at Animazment, there wasnt as much Naruto cosplayers, which i find as improvement no less...

If there were fewer Naruto cosplayers, it's time to start looking at what is starting to pop up in droves. It will be the new fandom.

Death Note has spiked in the past two years since Adult Swim shows it and the fact you can do one character from your closet and another from Hot Topic.

Zeonik Freak, there are exceptions to the manga being better than the anime. Bebop was an anime first, the manga is fairly poor. The extended universe manga on the other hand is awesome. The other clear exceptions I can think of are older (50s/60s) so I wont go into them.

Ive got vol 3 of the bebop manga, i thought it was pretty good.

But usually, if anything is printed from manga to anime, the manga tends to offer more than the anime. Eva started out as an anime before manga, but the manga seems to add more, even though both are very good...

Death Note and Code Geass.

And I actually liked Code Geass, oh well hooray for idiots ruining a decent modern anime.

Oh, and Gurren Lagann seems to be teetering at the edge of mainstream as well regretably.

Not as much in the cosplay sense though. Macross Frontier seems to be making its rounds in the southeast aswell. Ohwell, a good friend of mine was Clef from Magic Knight Rayearth at Anime Expo a couple weeks ago. She said the most disappointing part of it was that so many had no idea who she was, even with the rest of the cast. The day when Sailor Moon is unknown to the masses, is the day I stop considering myself an anime fan.

well, back to the topic and the nashi thing. The people who are in it are creepy and sad. There are a few who aren't, but they are vastly outnumbered and it's best to stay away. I heard that their last event was ssbb and they changed the rules right as it happened "to accommodate the crowd" and kind of ruined everything.

There hasn't been much in the way of retrogaming with them, I don't think. I'm pretty sure they're mostly about the wii if anything...

At their con they had a retro gaming room. PSX, N64, SNES, Dreamcast, Rockband... They ran out of room and shoved it in there. They had a decent N64 collection (about 20 titles) and the sticks werent totally shot - the SNES library was about 10 and they played Mario Kart the entire time I was there. I did not see the other two collections, but I am going to guess they were in the 100 range (cd wallets).

If you want retro, the next Momocon Gaming event will be highly advertised. Retrogaming is not the main draw for it, its more about analog gaming, but I will have a set of my collection there. Its only a 3 hour drive for you.
