I didn't think about posting a picture of my loft but here it is. Its not all that big and I can barely situp in bed. It kind of sucks but at least I have a separate area for sleep. Having to sit on my bed to watch tv/eat dinner just seems messy.

Also, my Japanese 360 did RROD about 5 months ago. I sent it in hastle free and got it back within 2 days of sending it out. New motherboard and it sounds cooler than it did originally. The White Saturn just adds coolness factor to the 360 (it's younger retarded brother at heart.)

Waaaaaaay in the back is where I keep boxes and out of season travel stuff behind the Luffy Pirates flag.

PlayAsia's my best friend when it comes to importing cheaper asia version English games. Buying modern Japanese games costs wayyy too much to justify. I can't belive most new games start at 6500+ yen (non special edition.) It's insane!

Wow, what a small world. I've lived here for about 2 years now and its OK. A lot has probably changed since you lived here but a lot is probably the same. It's still pretty country compared to most of Japan. With all the inconveniences of living in the countryside. There's been a lot of development in Kofu and its surrounding area so its really not all that bad actually. I can get pretty much all I want here without having to head to Tokyo.

I spy Yotsuba&! So glad that another company managed to get the license out here when ADV stopped translating it.

Wow, it's not even that hard of a series to translate. Why did ADV give it up? Was it too niche even for them?

I've never read the localized version but I'd be curious to see how they managed. I've been on the original version since issue 1.

Forgot to ask--how much do all the different 360s usually go for second-hand?

You ever get any close calls rolling out of bed?

My understanding is they completely backed out of manga to focus on the anime market, due to poor performance. I picked up the series when I found that there was a localized version, since I had really enjoyed Azumanga Daioh. Azuma does a great job with panels of just facial expressions that really get you into the story. I also enjoy the fact that Danbo has an Amazon branded version you can get off Amazon.co.jp. Whenever one of my coworkers makes a trip to one of our buildings out there they are obligated to bring one back.

It depends where you shop but the going price for a used arcade is about 12,000 yen with a controller, a 20gb pro for about 17,000, and the 120 elite used for about 22,000+.

My numbers may be a bit off since I haven't bought a 360 for 2 years now. They're not the best things to buy used but I took a chance and so far its paid off fine.

As for close calls in bed, I haven't had any really. I thought it was going to be dangerous but the space between my bed and the guard rails does a good job of making a saftey zone just incase I do roll.

Hey cool game room you have there. My eyes immediately went to the Saturn games! For some reason the packaging design on Japanese games far exceeds those we get the US. Those Sega Saturn games you have there are a perfect example. If all games (the CD-based ones) used the same jewel case size as they seem to in Japan, it would have made my life so much easier. As it is now, my game room is huge mess and not nearly as organized as yours - simply because of the different sizes of games and such. I think my US Saturn games are the worst offenders - at least in terms of size of packaging. But again, nice game room!

I've always been a fan of the JP Saturn packaging. I think the main reason EU/US went with the gigantic cases was because of the surplus SEGA CD cases they had out. Plus at that time even the original PS1 games were released in equally horrible large cases. Maybe both comanies thought non Japanese speaking countries prefered bigger items because they had more space. Who knows?

The US cases are a gigantic space hog but they are very easy to read for easy finding. The only real redeeming quality really.

Since I took those pictures, my Saturn collection has been growing daily. I have a lot of free time on my hands since I am on summer break right now. My schools don't need me over the summer so I get to vege out till the end of August. The best thing about collecting Saturn games in Japan is that they're dirt cheap and most places are practically giving them away.

That's true for sure! Unless you're talking about the more sought after games like Radiant Silvergun. Even for those games, I found Guardian Heroes for about 700yen in a Momotaro game shop.

When I first got my (first) Japanese Saturn, I picked up up along with about 30 games. The games cost about... 2000yen in total. So cheap! The classics like Daytona, Virtua Fighter 2, Street Fighter Zero 2, etc., are all $1 or less (sometimes 20yen).

BTW, that's a nice, clean and well organized room. It looks really good. Leopalace, is it?
