Not all of us live in the land devoid of gamer girls that is Kansas, chief. I met my girlfriend while attending an anime club meeting years ago. In fact, most of the guys I know who have girlfriends that play games met them the same way...

The trouble is finding the real diamonds in the rough. There are quite a few girls interested in those topics that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

I have no interest in anime fangirls. Those fucking failures at life are everywhere, even in my state. We were talking about videogames, not anime. Huge difference. Girls do not play actual video games. Stop blaming my location for this assumption. I've talked to enough people from all over the country with the exact same experiences.

Mozgus, not everyone that goes to an anime club is an anime fangirl. If you think that's the case, you must not go to many clubs. I've seen fangirls as well as regular women interested in anime for various reasons such as art styles or music, not just to pine over some bloody half naked girlyboy. If you can't find anybody like that, than perhaps it is a problem with location, or maybe you just aren't paying enough attention. And despite what "people from all over" may tell you, there are real gamer girls out there. I know, I've seen them in the wild.

Though considering what I've seen from some of the male gamers and anime fans, I think I can understand why most women would want to avoid our communities. While you think you can't find a good woman there, do you think many of them believe they can find a good man either?

I also have to say, she settles for nothing less than 1ccing. Consequently, she is really knowledgeable about games and has a deeper appreciation for game design and mechanics. Her mindset allowed her not only to get really good at MS, but also to understand nuances and grasp the subleties of games that ordinary people generally can't notice.
