My gaming room in Japan.

Post by Upsidedown Fuji »

I don't post much but I do lurk often. XD Just figured I'd add to the other great game rooms and give my own spin on things. Since I live in Japan things are a little different here. As you guys import stuff from Japan, I find myself importing stuff from back home in the US. Strange isn't it?

Anyway, my gameroom isn't really just a game room, it is my only room. I live in a tiny Japanese 1 room apartment, just think of it as a minature studio apartment. I've been steadily rebuilding my collection for almost 2 years now while literally living under the shadow of Mt. Fuji. I have many more games back in storage in the US but I don't think I'll be touching those again for at least another couple of years.

Questions, comments, requests? Let's hear them down below. :D

Here are a few shots of how my room is set up.

Here's my box of controllers minus my Samba De Amigo maracas, PS2 Dualshock, and extra white Saturn 6button.

My TV setup. Complete with a Sony 5.1 surround sound setup, Panasonic region free HDMI DVD upscaler, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Saturn Shiro, Xbox 360, and a neglected PS2. I also have a generation 1 PSP and DS lite for gaming in bed.

My fishtanks and secondary game/comic book storage.

My loveseat sofa. Barely fits 2 people.

Some more Saturn games I just picked up on the cheap.

I love your white Sega Saturn. You've got a dreamcast too, but no Mega Drive?

This one-room apartment begs the question: where do you sleep?

I was wondering where you sleep as well. Unless your one room apartment is one of those fancy two room apartments.

Awesome question. You can't tell from the way I took the pictures but the room's celing is very high. There's a loft above where the lamp gets cut off. I have a ladder I pull down when I want to go to bed or pull extra stuff out of storage. It's a great way to separate myself from distraction during the night. Just gets a tad annoying having to climb down in the morning when I am groggy trying to shake off a good night's rest.

I have a megadrive back home. I figured I didn't need another but I may pick one up if I find a JVC X-eye in box. I'd rather have a SEGA CD/Megadrive bundle if I were to buy a second one. Beyond that I really don't want any other SEGA systems seeing as how most of the good stuff has been ported to newer systems and compilations.

So has your 360 RROD'd or does the white Saturn on top of it keep it cool? :D

Dude, I've been importing from America too! Especially for the PS3, where the Japanese exclusive scene seems to be pretty much a barren wasteland.

Nice TV, too.

I spy an Inspector Zenigata next to that TV.

Anyhow, nice collection. It's small but you seem to have most bases covered.

Oh, and those Snatcher stickers are kickass.

Kofu? Weird, I spent a year there teaching in the late 90s. How do you like it?
