For those that take pride in their skills as a gamer...

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

For those that take pride in their skills as a gamer...

... you have got to try this game: Trials 2.

I bought this as part of a Steam special and I hated it at first. The menus are ugly, the music is almost always the same song, everythings dark, and I don't care about motor cycles. The game is so hard, I couldn't even beat the tutorial levels, so I stopped playing and forgot about.

Then recently I was playing some Excitebike for nostalgia sake and decided I would give Trials 2 another chance. I'm glad I did because I totally changed my mind about this game! I finally figured out the controls enough to get through the tutorials, then I found I couldn't stop. I played through all the "easy" levels (seriously, there's nothing easy about them except in comparison to later levels), and I'm through most of the medium difficulty. If you want a game that is challenging and will force you to die a gruesome death a thousand times over, then you have to give this game a shot. Once you start to get a handle on the controls, it's incredibly fun. It's really more of a puzzle game that takes precise timing than it is a racing or motorcycle tricks game. Each course is brilliantly designed to just barely be humanly possible to get through. This is one of the most difficult games I have ever played.

If you are the type of gamer that likes games that really challenge your skill then you owe it to yourself to try this punishingly difficult game.

I have no pride and I have no gaming skills, so this doesn't look like it's for me.

Heh. No. I just like the way they do digital distribution. There's lots of free mods, instant updates, good game server acces, and regular good deals. So, I buy a lot of games from them and end up talking about them a lot.

There are things I don't like about them too. They don't do refunds on anything. You can't re-sell or re-gift your games if you want to get rid of them. If you buy a package of games that includes one you already have, you can't give away the extra copy or receive any compensation. The "Steam Community" feature is really basic and cryptic and could make interacting a lot easier than it currently is.

So yeah, I'm not a spokesperson or anything, but I link to Steam because you can see pictures, video, and download a demo if you want to give this game a look.

I had pride in my gaming skill until I played this game. Now I'm with you.
