JordanPlayer wrote:Hey everyone, I figured that since I joined over a week ago and have been making posts that I should actually introduce myself instead of being some mysterious forum lurker  My name is Jordan... yea who would've thunk? I'm 22 and am going to be getting married in a little less than a month. Luckily my significant other supports my video gaming/collecting hobby so there will be no mass selling. I am an IT technician and enjoy building/maintaining my own PC. I actually came to this site because I was trying to find the best old school games to download and play on an emulator. After being here for a bit and reading the forums it inspired me to pull my old consoles/games out of the closet and hook them back up

Video-game wise I grew up on the NES as a young kid. I would spend hours watching older kids play learning how they would handle situations and then incorporate that into my game play. I went around my neighborhood collecting aluminum cans and eventually saved up $150 to buy my NES. Moving on after the NES I somehow ended up getting both the SNES and Genesis (honestly don't remember how). I then followed the N64, Gamecube, Wii route (while having the PC for many other games). I would say that the gametypes I excel at are FPS and platforming; however I am also generally competitive at all genres and can learn how to play/get up to speed in a game pretty quickly.

My "collection" is actually just the games I have purchased over the years; I have gone back and bought about 5-10 games for both the N64 and Gamecube but that's it. Right now I am looking at my first old school purchase, I'll let you guys know how that goes. Sometime I'll also have to put up pics of my collection which is scattered around at the moment... and since everyone seems to like TMNT action figures I can try and find what box they are stored away in
Welcome to the forums. My fiancée supports my collection however she calls it her 'wedding fund' jokingly. I hope she doesn't secretly pawn my collection off in the run up to the big day .

Good luck with the wedding.

Just keep an inventory count so stuff doesn't magically disappear  Weddings are an exciting time, however the planning and stress leading up to them... not so much hehe

Hello everyone, I know I should have done this since the beginning

I am Pookie (not literally). After a seven year hiatus from gaming, I have recently begun to play video games again. My first experience with gaming was the Sega Master System, it was my older brother's console. The first games I ever played were Space Harrier, After Burner, Safari Hunt/Hang On, R-type, and Shinobi. When I turned 7, it was my parents and brother who bought me my very first console, and that console was a Sega Genesis. After that, my console's that followed were a PS1 and PS2. After high school, all of a sudden I stopped playing video games, I had just lost interest.

But now, I have seen the light, and that light is the Sega Dreamcast

G&W; now that's pretty awesome. I remember my pride and joy was the boxing G&W with the two pull out controllers. Glad to have you with us.

Hi my name is Jeremy. I am 21 years old and I have loved videogames for as long as I can remember. The game that initially got me hooked was Final Fantasy for the NES. I am a huge RPG fan.

Hi, I'm 19 years old from Toronto Canada, just got into retro gaming a couple weeks ago. Reading these boards for awhile now and decided to jump into the fun. Hoping to learn more about retro gaming from here. By the way that finds of the day thread makes me sad cause I never get anything like that. :( The closest thing i got to a deal was 30 n64 games for 55 bucks with 18 of them complete one being collector's ed of majora's mask and the other being OoT. Hopefully that was a good deal :?

Hello everyone, I'm a game artist in San Francisco and only recently decided to take up retro gaming as a more serious hobby. The info on this site is awesome. As a result, I've been an Ebay junkie lately - buying SNES, NES, and Saturn games. I'm a big fan of hand-drawn sprites (2d hand-drawn games). My current favs at the moment are Metal Slug, In The Hunt, The Last Blade 2, and Blaze Blue. Nice to meet you all!
Systems Owned: Saturn, DC, SNES, NES, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Gamecube, N64, DS, GBA, NEOGEO Pocket
