Uh, chief, that's how it's been for every SF tournament I've ever watched footage from. But since the point of a tournament is to win, players generally exploit the cheapest tactics they can come up with that are considered legal.

It's always been one of my biggest complaints. It's a terrible game to watch people professionally play. But if you watch pros tackle GGX, Smash Bros, or like any RTS, suddenly it becomes an amazing show. SF cant possibly be enjoyed in any sense when played that way. That's an obvious sign of a flawed game.

Mmm...maybe some RTS games, but I feel Starcraft is absolutely dull to watch, and some titles like Empire Earth that can stretch out forever, those really bug me.

Smash Bros. is great to watch a match however, especially when items are on, since it becomes a mixture of skill and luck. I like the luck part, it makes it more dangerous.

Honestly, the power of items are vastly overrated. At least in Melee. You can avoid or counter most of them easily.

True, but it adds an extra X-factor that just might swing the game in an opponent's favor, like a forgotten proximity mine or a sudden lucky hammer drop.

I've killed more hammer wielders than they have killed me. Mines can be seen at all times unless you're on a very small screen. They're pretty damn easy to avoid.

They are, until you get smacked into one. Or in a four player match, where you can quickly forget about them.

Hey look, yet another Mozgus blanket statement.

And here's me, saying the phrase "personal preference" once more. (De ja vu, anyone?).

You not liking a game doesn't equal a game being flawed. Put your ego aside for five minutes and acknowledge that the world is bigger than your back yard, and that the statistical sample of you doesn't equal every human on the planet.

Or better yet, head over to SRK and share your rantings there. The response might not be so polite. :)

Yes, personal preference. I have mine. Get over it. Don't argue the semantics of opinion with me. Provide some counter reasoning or don't bother posting. You waste everyone's time.
