USPS Woes
USPS Woes
So I just moved into my new apartment in Worcester MA and setup all of my mail to come to the new apartment. Well, its been nearly three weeks now and I havent received anything. I called up the post office last week and they told me I needed to do a change of address in order to receive the mail being sent to the apartments address (kinda weird huh?). Well, the change should have gone through, but still no mail. I go to the post office today and ask them what is going on, and they inform me that I need to put my full address on the mailbox (first time Ive ever needed to do this after living in apartments in three different states), otherwise all mail will be returned to sender. Thats interesting, because I had JUST got off the phone with the 1800 ASKUSPS and they informed me all my mail was waiting at the post office. Seriously USPS, wtf? They currently have my paycheck, new state license, car registration, health insurance information, car insurance information AND my copy of Phantasy Star 2! So dumb...

That reminds me of a trick I used to do when I was younger. I would subscribe to several music clubs at the same time but with different names and apt numbers. The mailman would deliver it all to my address with was a regular house. I would pay all of the bills, of course, but this allowed me to build my music collection up pretty quickly for a low average cost per CD.

I've been to That's Entertainment and wasn't impressed. They didn't have much of a selection and the store was kind of dumpy.Octopod wrote:Welcome to Mass. Have you been to That's Entertainment? I keep meaning to go but I dont want to drive to Worcester.

A great place to check out is Comically Speaking in Reading, MA. They just got into the Video Gaming business about a month ago.

How is their pricing?
Re: USPS Woes
I had something similar happen. When I moved here to Seattle I moved into an apartment with a few other people. I set up all my online addresses to point to my current one, so I didn't need to deal with USPS change of address on my identity. I then went to the DMV, got my new license, and they mailed the permanent one to me. But since I didn't have my name on the mailbox it got returned to sender. This only affect certain pieces of mail, however. As soon as I got my name on it I had no problems.

OMG I was just there the other day and had a nerdgasm. They have ALOT of stuff, but there are no deals to be found. The best thing I saw was a Lunar Silver Star Complete for PS1 for I think like 40 dollars.Octopod wrote:Welcome to Mass. Have you been to That's Entertainment? Funny because I just moved from Seattle to Worcester. Im just worried because there is ALOT of my information floating around in limbo and I dont want to have to go through contacting each entity to have it resent.MrPopo wrote:I had something similar happen. I think their prices are fair considering that they have to pay rent/bills. Recently I bought some SNES controllers for $5/each, some N64 game for $3, and an NES advantage joystick for $15.Octopod wrote:How is their pricing?
I was impressed with how much stuff they had for retro games. I haven't seen another store in Mass with as much stuff they have. If you look at this picture http://comicallyspeaking.com/images/50sale09/slide2.jpg, you'll see the checkout area. All of the counter display cases have retro stuff. On the back wall, those shelves have games up to the 3rd picture. He also have a couple of standalone display cases. The picture doesn't show the video games as it was taken before he stocked them. The proprietor of the store is the bald heavy set guy....real nice person.
I popped in when he was just getting started in video game sales. His store is very impressive for the quantity of comics/manga/anime stuff.
There's another fellow who advertises on Craigslist with a location in Cambridge. The name of the store is Mike's Toyz. I've been meaning to check it out sometimes. He also lives in Billerica and had said that one could drop by his house to see the stuff he has in the garage.

Personally, I didn't think they had a lot of gaming stuff. Maybe I went at a time when inventory was low? I checked it out 2 months ago. As an example, they only had a handful of Saturn games while Comically Speaking had something like 40.fox099 wrote:OMG I was just there the other day and had a nerdgasm.
