Collecting regrets?

Trading in 20 awesome PS2 games for the 360 HD-DVD player. Then a year later having to buy them back.

I kinda wish I had hung on to the original copies of all the adventure games I had as a kid. I had most of the Sierra catalog (except for LSL ), and those were really nice boxes with nice art.

I also got rid of a bunch of C128 stuff before college. But I didn't have much choice there. It was way too bulky to bring with me, and my dad lost his house. I don't even know where it ended up going. It was a pretty big lot of stuff, but I got it for fairly cheap, so not a huge loss, though I'm still looking for another lot like that. The C128 was the best commodore 8 bit computer. 100% C64 compatible, but faster, more RAM, 80 columns, Z80 mode, just great stuff. I even had the fast 1571 drive, and the gorgeous 1702 monitor. sigh

When I was a kid, I collected Nintendo Power mags and kept them in as mint as shape as possible. Looking at them you would of thought they just came out of the press. I had a good collection of issues from like 1992 to 1998 and eventually, I stopped subscribing. They sat in my room for years, but stayed in excellent condition.

When I moved out of my parents house, I threw them all out...ALL OF THEM. I still regret doing it to this day. Luckly, my buddy from work had lots of those issues and gave them to me.

And probably a few more. I've since gotten zombie revenge and dynamite cop again but the price of power stone has gone way up.

I can't say I have too many gaming collection regrets because I'm a damn packrat and dont sell, trade, or get rid of ANYTHING, but there are a few things I could lament on.

There was was an atari 2600 at thrift store a while ago, it looked to be in decent condition. It had two of every controller and atleast 30 games I could see. It was only $30 ... $30 that I didn't have on me. My father wasn't in the mood to pay for it and said we'd come back thursday for it. Two days later we came back and that thing was gone. Damn me for not having enough money with me to buy it!

That and buying Final Fantasy XII, ugh why oh why did I buy it I DON'T EVEN LIKE FINAL FANTASY.

Her sons were dipshits that didn't take care of things either. They ruined their Nintendo because one of the brothers wisely poured his milk and Cheerios into the open NES and had breakfast because all of the bowls were dirty. Dumb fuckers. I hated those neighbors.

I had something like that happen to me before, my 3 year old sister poured milk and pennies (weird combination don't ask, I don't know why she did this) into my Model 1 genesis, suffice to say it didn't have a snowballs chance in hell of ever working again. I eventually replaced it with a Model 2, but it just ain't the same. The Model 1 Genesis was way cooler too.

I bought a new Sega Saturn,a light gun,arcade stick,Die Hard Arcade,X-Men:Children of the Atom,and The House of the Dead,all complete,and I sold it out for $50 to get a PlayStation.I was so young and didn't realize those games were worth money.I didn't have a choice at the time because Saturn games were not in stores anymore and I lived so far away from any used video game stores.I still regret what Ive done to this day.I'll probably buy back these games later on,at least I will able to play these games on a emulator.

A few months ago I threw out a NES that was in great shape. I had replaced the cart connector and it worked well but one day it just stopped reading games at all. It had gone out with the trash and a week later the guy at my classic game store said it was a common fixable problem. I still have the games, connectors and controllers though.
