Collecting regrets?

Post by Octopod »

What is your biggest video game collecting related regret?

I pawned my NES collection 2 or 3 years ago. LOL *sigh* :( . Over 300 games...all good ones, no sports shit and a nice condition system. I planned to get them back and I just wanted some quick cash. For what ever reason I didnt go back until I knew it was two weeks past the time I had to ask if I could buy them back and they told me they sold them as a lot on ebay. If I just wanted to get rid of them I would have ebayed them myself and got alot more than the $200 I got from the pawn shop. Why the hell didnt I go back to get them in time?
That same day I sold my Dreamcast stuff to Rhino Games in College Station but atleast I knew I was selling that.

You know, I don't think I've ever had a real regret. I had a close one, though. I was at a Funcoland pawning off my several bad SNES games and my Genesis plus a couple games (Sonic 2, S&K, Shining Force 2, Sonic Spinball). However, my SF2 cart had a loose piece of plastic in it, so it rattled whenever it moved. The Funcoland guy wouldn't take it in, so I kept the Genesis so I would still be able to play it. Still sold the Sonic games, and used that money along with the SNES games (they were all bad ones that I never repurchased) to get a complete copy of FF6 (minus the box). I'm glad I never sold SF2, since I got years of enjoyment out of it, and the Sonic games can be had for cheap (I got them all back as part of a big system lot I got for $30, along with other goodies).

My biggest regret was buying the Sims for gamecube at full retail price, simply based on all the hype, reviews of the Sims in general, and the massive sales figures. One of the worst games I ever played in my life, and definitely the worst on Gamecube. It was even worse than Mystic Heroes. It was so bad, that I become a full blooded pirate for the next year or so.

My big regret is I like to sell things then buy them back sometimes. Really eats a hole in your wallet.

I had a collection of over 100 dreamcast games back in 2002. Sold them to pay for my xbox. Most retarded move of my life I had every rare game for the machine and all the goods.
