That sucks. What was the explanation you were given to as why you didn't have the store credit anymore?

When my girlfriend was about to check out she goes...hey can you check and see how much store credit we have...he looks it up, and the employee goes none...she goes...uhm, are you serious? He turns the monitor and shows her and she laughs and says wow, isnt THAT something, and leaves. I have yet to go there due to being pissed I dont want to go rip the guys head off...literally.

Hello, I work at a Play N Trade (a different one, in CT) and that definitely is sketchy. I concur that if with a receipt, you should be able to gt your compensation if not through the actual store but with corporate. I would keep going back and bothering the guy with the receipt... don't worry! persistence will pay off, i assure you.

Don't you think you should go in and find out what happened/ask for explanation before calling corporate on them or before coming on a public message board and ripping the owner? It might be a simple mix up/mistake and they fix it for you no problem.

I highly doubt it, here is more on it sinse I am not in a rush right now...

The day I did the trade in the guy gave me like 450$? for everything, they are asking 475$ for the cd add on and console alone...so they are going to make double what they gave me.

Well the owner did NOT like what the guy gave me....he actually fired that guy a few days later. He called me when they had gotten a jasper 360 in...that day I went to pick it up and the owner was there...when he saw I was getting the 360 he had JUST gotten and using the store credit he started to be a real dickhead. While we were outside smoking a cig before leaving...the owner storms out...stomps around then flings the door back open...goes inside, THEN the guy that just helped me which had become a friend to me, and honestly, the ONLY reason I started going to this PnT...walks out....I go talk to him and find out he was just fired. Apparently due to my "trade in being to much value" and then due to...I shit you not..." I just got that xbox and now its already gone?! that means I have to buy another one".....

This guy is a fuckin dick, he has NO REASON owning a gamestore. All he has is $.$, you can tell the guy cant even stand being around kids from his reactions when they go in the store. His wife is also a piece of work...she told the guy the day I was doing the trade "This seems odd...why would someone trade all this stuff in"...how about for the fact I am going to use that store credit...IN YOUR STORE. Considering I got 450$ and they are trying to make, 850$ off my trade in...seems fair to me.

I really wanted to just let the issue drop, but I have gotten pissed to the point I can not even see straight anymore. The more I site and think about it, its literally as if I did a trade in...but only...I DONATED stuff to them...and trust me, I would never donate to a guy like this.

Do you have any way of keeping in touch with the former employee? Might not be a bad idea to talk to him about it. Since he worked in the place, he might know something about how credit gets handled.

As for court...don't know about that. $40 is a little too low, even for small claims. I think they have a minimum of $50.

He knows they gave it to me....after he was fired I had not been back, which was only 2 weeks ago or so...not that long at all. So between then...to now...2 weeks...money gone.

This guy also had the nerve to tell his employees "Oh this guy comes in here and just thinks he is going to clean house"...I got an xbox....he made it sound like I just got 300 nes games, 2 dreamcast consoles, 6 super nes, every shmup, and every rpg known to man....
