Never Again

Post by lost_within »

I need forum members help...and sorry if this becomes a not safe for kids post but I am really pissed....

Not long ago I traded in a huge turbo grafx bundle...I am sure some of you know the one. Well I got good store credit for it all, got a new xbox, a game, and had 40$ left over....well...last night I told my gf if she wanted to she could goto the Play N Trade and just use it up to get it out the way....well.....

THERE WAS NONE! Apparently the owner fucking deleted me having ANY store credit. Even better...the guy that took the trade in was fired......

Reguardless why the fuck IS MY CREDIT GONE?!

Now what makes this really nice is this....ALL! PnT are privately owned....so who do I contact about something like this? Look at it like this, either he stole 40$ from my pocket....OR he stole all of about 16 games I traded in *considering trade in value on older games is horrible* Reguardless....I am really pissed off and for this reason I feel that EVERY retro gamer deserves to know that PnT can fuck you even worse than gamestop. Atleast at gamestop I never had my money stolen from me.

If anyone has any advice on who to contact please let me know, and for anyone in the VA area...stay AWAY from chesterfield town center...you know what PnT I am talking about...worthless.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

Ouch. That sucks. I never let credit sit at those places, I only trade something in if they have something I immediately want to buy . . . although I haven't traded anything in in years. I think play n trade will give you cash (although it's less than the credit).

At the gamecrazy I used to go to there was this kid who'd come in to the hollywood video section, and he had figured out how to bust open the seals. So he'd drop the rental games, take the game out and walk over to the gamecrazy and trade it in. He had like hundreds in credit so the employees just used it to buy stuff. . .

Anyway. . .

So, you talked to the owner and he did not return your credit? There are state laws that determine how long store credit is valid for, and laws for depreciation of store credit. Try to reason with the owner, or contact the corporate office. I know they are individual franchise, but just try and reason with the owner. Show him your receipts for the trade in, the receipt of the purchase of your xbox. And, that receipt should show the amount of store credit that you have remaining . If that does not work, contact the better business bureau, and last resort would be small claims court.

He knew about the trade in...he was there when I was buying the 360....this was only like MAYBE 2 weeks ago. This was the first time either of us had been back...I KNOW they are susposed to hold it for more than 2 weeks. Hell its been 6 months and I think I still have 1$ at another Pnt just sitting on an account for no reason. The owner is the dickhead that took the store credit. If it was an employee I could understand talking to the owner...but in this case...I am just pissed and confused.

Agreed, being a franchise doesn't really mean much because if the store breaks corporate policy then they can still be either shut down, or have their agreement to use the PnT name put under review.

Do you have any receipts or proof of the transaction? If, you have proof of your transaction, it's an open and shut case. Call the corporate office. If you do not get anywhere with him, take the owner to small claims court. Sue for the store credit and court cost, but that is the last case scenario.
