Opening animation of the documentary "Video Games"

Post by jfrost »

I don't know if the documentary is out already, but its opening animation is great.

Really:

(The Mario sequence was awesome.)

That was awesome. The montage at the end was priceless.

It was awesome until it got to the Mario part.

Very German.

Is it just me, or is the Lara Croft handdrawn art more attractive than her 3D model in the first couple games?

I lol'd so hard the first time I saw this. Mario and his leg-humping.

From a design standpoint it was very impressive, but I found myself hating it about halfway through the Mario part. It just got incredibly stupid after that point. It was a very high-quality work, but all-in-all, I can't say that I enjoyed it.

I agree it went downhill as it got more into stupid gags, though I did like the Monkey Island VS Doom bit.

Well, I liked the weird humor. The guy could've just made a video mashup of several games without adding much new to it, but he chose to put in his sometimes ridiculous jokes. Makes sense that it won't be everyone's cup of tea.
