Re: Neo Geo AES and Neo Geo Cd question
Value for money there is no competitor to the Console MVS. If you do the mod yourself (quite easy with a jamma harness, you don't have to be a genius to put an MVS in a box and wire up a PSU, and component video out.) it should cost about half the price of an AES including the all the parts and a PSU. Plus you have the choice of using the AES control stick or you making your own custom controls using standard arcade components.
Plus if you decide to build/buy an arcade cabinet down the line you can just stick it in the cab and wire the controls/monitor/coinslot directly to a jamma harness you can't do that with an AES (well there's nothing stopping you, but you'd be out of your mind).

But back the topic, like posted above. Another great thing about the mvs boards...once you have time, room, money for a real cab...you can just get an empty one *or build one* and you already have the board for it...and hopefully by that point, alot of REALLY good games.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

Re: Neo Geo AES and Neo Geo Cd question
Yeah so I'm about to buy an Neo Geo AES with a serial number in the 100,000 region does that mean the video won't be as good as the earlier models? Is there a huge difference that is very noticeable? Sorry for asking so many questions, I just wan't to know all these details because I'm about to spend well over $200 on this console so I want to know if I should get one with a lower serial number or buy the one I'm currently looking at. Thanks for the help everyone

Re: Neo Geo AES and Neo Geo Cd question
lower serials run alot more than 200$ normally just for the collector making prices that way. I still say you should hunt around the neo forum for a cMvS. The video on the higher serials isnt horrible, the lower numbers are just clearly better...how about that for an answer?

Re: Neo Geo AES and Neo Geo Cd question
I would not be concerned with the serials honestly. Look for a console in good condition, and complete as possible. Boxes are becoming harder to find.
