Yeah, maybe. But at 31 I am still trying to be optimistic.

I have to agree on taking better care of your disks. Always put them back in their cases after use and you'll never have this problem again. Unless they were flawed when they left the manufacturer.

and it's recommended not to leave them in the disc drives when not using

If scratched games is really that much of a problem for you, then why not invest in a disc repair machine?
