If you could have Sega and Nintendo work together on a game:

Post by Original_Name »

Which franchise would you select? Or would you want a new IP? And let's pretend for good fun's sake that this hypothetical Sega is Dreamcast-era quality Sega!

My suggestion for a great Sega/Nintendo team-up would be a new Starfox game! I think that both company's strengths could work wonders in this franchise as they did with F-Zero GX! In return, Nintendo could lend their strengths to a new Jet Set Radio! Both of these games feel like titles that either company might have produced. It's not much of a stretch to think of Yu Suzuki thinking up Starfox or Shigeru Miyamoto conjuring up Jet Set Radio, so I think the chemistry would really work on these titles.

What do you guys think?

* Sonic/Mario crossover: Sonic finds a Warp Pipe that joins his world with Mario's. The two and their ilk join forces to stop a union of Eggman and Bowser to stop their joined forces.

* A Phantasy Star game that ties in with Legend of Zelda, where the descendents of Link, Zelda and Gannon seek the Triforce in the PS setting

* A Mario Party game with Sega characters, boards, and Sega-based minigames. And a tandem game that is a Sonic Shuffle sequel with Mario characters.

* An action-adventure game where you play as a member of Team Rocket

No. I don't want that failure company working with a still somewhat good company like nintendo. They're collaberation would bring a heaping pile of fresh douche. Sega has just lost it. I'm still awaiting galaxy 2, the next zelda, and another starfox which probably won't happen for awhile. Actually I kind of prefer the style of starfox adventures to the flying ones, but that is not the point. I don't want sega even reletiveley close to

nintendo. Note how in even a paragraph I spaced it out far enough. ;)

Which is why I said Nintendo/Dreamcast-era Sega in the original post.

(PS! Don't even call that shitty company Sega! They're just the atrocious Sammy Corporation calling themselves Sega now. I think they have like, 15-20% (if that) of their old personnel who gave Sega a good name in the 80's, 90's, and very early 2000's. It's an entirely different company now, which is why the descent in quality has been so drastic.)

A Viewtiful Joe/Comix Zone crossover. That just seems so right.

Viewtiful Joe is by Capcom, but still, that's a sensible mash-up!

Damn it. I keep associating games with their consoles.

Oh really? You'd describe Mario & Sonic at the Olympics as awesome? I thought that most people only found the game above average being that it's only an Olympics game in the vein of Track & Field and not a platformer in the vein of the franchises from which it borrows its characters. What's so great about it?
