Ps2 game problem, help if you can.

I have the game "The Thing". It for some reason will not work, um ... the ps2 can not read the disk.
The disk is not scrached or anything, does anybody know how to fix this problem? ill try anything.

Um, how old is your ps2? Is the thing a blue disc or a dvd? Is your system giving you a disc read error? Does the disc work on other systems? Ps2's in general have a million problems these days.
