The Sword of Vermilion: Help me find the soundtrack

Post by Reverend »

I have found memories of this game and really love the soundtrack. Unfortunately, my few hour long search for the music has come up with nothing useful. Does anyone have access or a link to the soundtrack? Preferably in mp3 form so I can put it on my mp3 player.

His post is from 2007, but if you are able to contact him it might be a start. Sword of Vermillion is on data disc 24.

I have a mac and rock Audio Overload. There's a windows version available as well. I haven't used too much of the competition (there isn't much on the mac), but I find that program pretty intuitive all things considered. It allows you to play and export the vgz files to wav files which you can then convert to mp3 using another program.

When you go to convert one of the vgz files it will ask you to pick how long (in seconds) you want to make the export. I usually go for a couple seconds past the length of the song for non-looping tracks to allow for a pause between songs. With looping songs this program only loops them twice after the first, so I multiply the length of the song by 3 and then add a few seconds to allow (once again) for a pause in between songs. It's not going to sound pretty with the looping tracks, but it's better than it going STRAIGHT into the next song.

I have yet to hear of a program that allows you to add crossfade (or a slow fade to silence) to an mp3 file (or a vgz file for that matter) but if one exists I'd like to know. Itunes can add crossfade in playback, but many older iPod models don't support this.

When you export the song to a wav it won't retain any of the artist/track information, so you'll have to re-enter that manually once you put it into mp3. It's a huge hassle, but may be the only way of getting the full soundtrack in mp3.
