Audiobook recommendations

Post by Mozgus »

Podcasts arent coming out fast enough to fill my days at work so I need more shit to listen to. I don't think we've had a thread for this yet (search isn't working), so suggest some good audiobook releases.

The audiobook for World War Z is pretty fantastic.

Ive never listened to an audiobook. Is it basically someone reading the book? Do they do voices for the characters and stuff?

Maybe?

Thats nice but can you suggest any individual downloads? Not just an entire site. This isn't my field. I don't know what's good.

Some are just read word for word in a single voice. Some, the reader might create all the voices. Some might actually have multiple actors with sound effects too. It depends.

World War Z's the latter--it's almost put together like a radio show. Mark Hamill even does a voice.

Moz, what are you interested in? There are as many types of audio books as there are of regular books, so without knowing your tastes its hard to tell.

IN general, you might check out www.podiobooks.com and see if anything catches your eye. Its basically full length books put out in podcast form. A lot of them have already been finished if you don't want your book in weekly chunks.
Comics, RPG's, miniatures, and now retrogaming? I guess its time to learn to go without eating...

I'm thinking of doing an audiobook version of my book, "The Bible IV". Interested?
