We know what you are talking about...
Not sure if the mods have noticed but the topics from mods only board show up on the front page.
They make for interesting reading but maybe you would like to hide them really.

Re: We know what you are talking about...
This topic has come up before. The mods are aware that this happens. They said they were investigating a way to hide these threads from appearing on the front page, but weren't optimistic. I can only assume by the frequency which I get that "You are not authorized to read this forum" slap in the face that they haven't yet been able to figure out a way to do this.

Re: We know what you are talking about...
Anyone know why it never happened in the past but is happening now?
Re: We know what you are talking about...
In the past we never had a mod's forum. Also, that forum is generally not too active, so posts don't show up often in the most recent topics list.

Last time this was mentioned, I thought racket had it fixed within hours, but apparently it's back again. No clues on my end, as I've never dealt with whatever blog software he runs here.
Re: We know what you are talking about...
It should be a simple change to the sql that populates the list, but if you havnt got the source then it might get tricky.
Re: We know what you are talking about...
select topic_name from (select topic_name from threads where forum != modforumid order by last_updated) where rownum < 11; is probably how I'd craft it. Then again, I can't remember if the order by gets applied before rownum or not, as rownum is always a little tricky. Plus, that's all Oracle, while I'm sure the forum runs on MySQL.

While different databases often do have varied implementations of SQL, the language should, by and large, be pretty generic and fairly universal.MrPopo wrote:select topic_name from (select topic_name from threads where forum != modforumid order by last_updated) where rownum < 11; is probably how I'd craft it.
