Hybrid Heaven

Post by Incognito D »

I'm playing through Hybrid Heaven at the moment and I'm about 6 hours in.

I was just wondering if anyone knows roughly how long it takes to complete it?

I heard somewhere that it can take as long as 70 hours  , in which case I think I'm screwed as I don't find it to be a very fun game.

Although I haven't played it, I've heard that it is a very long game.

As I recall the game is only about 15 hours or so at the most. I remember being able to beat it in a rental period.

Definitely a long game.
I've put more than a few hours into it and got as far as 6-6, just before I have to fight Bross. After that I quit because fighting Bross seemed to be based too much on luck. He's faster and constantly shoots ice shots at you, freezing you. What's worse, Bross could take almost all my life in one turn, and he often hits your character again and again while he's getting up, before you have the chance to hit again; and there's nothing you do about that at the time.

I looked at a faq just now to see what stage I was on, and found that the game goes as far as 9-2. I also found Hybrid Heaven to be very boring but I wanted to complete it nonetheless - after finding out it goes to 9-2, I don't revel the idea of putting that much more hours into it. Good luck with that! :P

Wow, you gave that dull game 6 hours. Your more patient than me

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I have Hybrid Heaven but haven't been able to get more than about thirty minutes into it. I just find it incredibly slow. That said, from what I understand it has a pretty deep and interesting battle system. Too bad I'll probably never be able to bring myself to get into it.

I finished it back when it was somewhat new and while the later level exploration may drag on a bit i found it to be a enjoyable rpg with a interesting story.

Now just out of curiosity why are you playing it even if you don't like it that much ?

Nope, you just use R Mid Kick and L Mid Kick over and over until the enemy dies  . None of the other moves, aside from some of the grapple manouvres, are worth bothering with.

I've never completed it before, so I'm on a mission in that sense, and also, I plan to review it once I'm done.

Okay guys, I seriously need help.

I got up to the final battle, but I'm not strong enough to beat the game.

Luckily I have a save from area 8-2 where there are respawning enemies, so I thought I'd be able to do some grinding here. However, beating them over and over doesn't seem to provide the usual rewards - it's very rare that stats like HP actually get an increase.

Currently my guy is at level 46 (HP 1540). Basically I just need to know what level it's good to be at in order to be able to beat the final bosses.

Any tips or anything is welcome. I'll be damned if I come this far and won't complete the game! I need to do this so it's over once and for all!

I hate to say this, but all the guides I've come across have been total garbage. Basically they all come down to "get the first hit, combo into him, and use all the items you have." And that's IF they actually describe the boss fight. Most just kinda glaze over it in a wall of text.

So my suggestion? Grind to level 60 and go from there. If that doesn't work, grind higher. And apparently you need to conserve your items and guns for the final boss.
