Why don't people talk about this game more?
We all have games that we like, but they don't seem to quite get a good amount of notoriety. There are your obviously good games like God of War, Grand Theft Auto, etc. that everyone knows about. Then there are the cult games like ICO or Okami that nobody played much when they came out, but people can't stop talking about them online. Then there are some that seem to have just gotten lost by the wayside. What are your favorite games that nobody seems to be talking about?

Yakuza. Specifically 2, but I have one and it seems to be the same gameplay but with dubbing instead of the subtitles. I keep playing 2 even though I should switch back to the first one.
A guy at gamestop told me it was like Grand Theft Auto in Japan. That's wrong. One hundred percent wrong. It's like River City Ransom and Shenmue, with a gritty Yakuza (Japanese mafia) movie storyline. It's a beat em up, you level up, and you're presented with lots of storyline filled with people getting beat up and typical mafia plotlines like working with the police and being falsely accused, fighting allies and forming new ones. I'm a little confused by it all, but I've got the jist of it to know where to go from point A to point B.
Please buy Yakuza 2. My copy was 20 dollars with box and instructions.

I'll second Yakuza 2, I jumped on the bandwagon after hearing so many people laud it for it's rare gem-ness. I'm stuck relatively early on, the game wants to teach me Majong and it makes me depressed that none of my Asian friends taught me previously.
Otherwise, I wish there would be more indepth discussion of Zelda: Majora's Mask. The game's mechanics create a real friction, challening the player by stigmatizing them and then dropping such a burden on their shoulders. Plus, there's much to be said about the way the game deals with cultural memberships with the mask mechanics. I'd write about them myself, but well, I've already finished the game twice.
I don't have any selections of retro games, since people don't really discuss retro games full stop anymore.

I always loved Wild 9 on the PS1.

Future Cop for the PS1 is one of my most favorite 2-Player experiences ever. Whether Co-Op or Versus, it's ten tons of fun.
To say I'm a huge Darkstalkers fan would be a understatement, and it always bothered me that nobody liked it until it was renamed and repackaged with Street Fighter and Marvel comic characters. And then repackaged again with one-armed samurai chicks, yo-yo wielding shota traps and bisexual assassins with living hair.

Bioforge, for the PC. It's a very polished action-adventure with great puzzles and storyline. It has the same Dead Space's atmosphere - that's why I loved Dead Space so much, BTW.

"Yes, Kate Walker. We just need to wind up the train, Kate Walker."
Memorable characters and great storyline.

Indigo Prophecy was a great game that got almost no attention. Zone Of The Enders 2 is a another one that comes to mind as well.
