Poor Man's game room

Post by samsonlonghair »

Isn't it great that you can get into retro gaming for practically nothing? I don't have a wondermega or a Laseravtive. In fact there's nothing in my living room that cost more than thirty dollars. I keep my consoles connected all the time so that whenever there's a party, we can immediately switch to any old console without having to hook up any wires.

This is my main setup. I keep my Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Gamecube, GEnesis, and PLaystation 1 hooked up at all times. I never know when the urge to play an old video game will strike. Two input switches on the top left control the selection.

I know I'm not the only one on this board who uses this controller storage solution.

Hmmm... the shoe holder is a clever way of keeping your controllers in once place but still separated so you don't get cord tangle. Do you know how well those can hold an N64 controller?

I hope you'll forgive me for double posting. For some reason I can only attach three pictures at a time. Here are my games:

Much respect for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collection.

Also, we have the same tv stand, though mine's not as big...

@ mr. popo. The pockets are very big, especially the two on the bottom. I've got my geneses arcade stick in one of those. I fit a Genesis 3 into on of the small pockets.

Oh yeah, by the way...is there any reason why you own 5 copies of Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt?

Cool room man, much respect for the TMNT figures, I remember the good old days when my brother and I had many of them.

@ Ack. I needed nine shelves so I took two of those tv stands and put them together. That's why mine's bigger. I get a lot of my nintendo cartridges in yard sales. Usually the people who sell them don't even have working NES consoles anymore; they want to get rid of all their carts at once, so I offer ten bucks for all their cartridges. I wind up with a number of Mario/Duckhunt carts that way. I also have Super Mario Bros. standalone and Duckhunt standalone.
