Youtube: Kingdom Hearts/Linkin Park AMV

I'm seeing absolutely no sync with the music here, (seriously, did you edit at all? or did you just take some clips, append in a random order, and attach the song?) and Linkin Park remains the number 1 most overused group in the entire editing scene. Stop it. Their music doesn't even suit 98% of all the source footage you people keep fusing them with.

And I am indeed one to talk, because I made a bullshit Linkin Park AMV back in September 2001. It's completely nonsense and retarded, and was nothing more than a demonstration of timing techniques. You get the idea.

First off, I made this over a year ago, when I was learning. I'm promoting it because the general viewers seem too like it, and it's the first of the videos I could get back up.

So cool down guys and instead of insulting me for trying, how about offering pointers.

Also, if you ever played the game, you know every moment used matches up very well with the feel of the song.

I highly doubt that, but it doesn't matter anyway. A good video allows unfamiliars to understand the message and enjoy what they are seeing.

The only parts that really sync up are at the beginning and the end where you see the Kingdom Hearts title, and in between there are various points where you take the literal words of the song and apply it to a cutscene.

You're using a popular song and a popular game with nothing new to add, so there should not be much of an opinion reserved for you. If all you are content with is to say you're a fan of both products, fine. Don't expect a professional, artistic, or even a balanced criticism of something like this. That may be harsh, but it's the truth.

Have to completely agree. Though syncing literally with lyrics is something I've certainly used in the past to a cheesy degree, it's still better than nothing at all, and will work as long as it doesn't conflict with anything else in the video, mood wise.

One of my most cringe worthy moments as an editor is the midway mark on my Princess Mononoke video where the song mentions watches and cameras. What the fuck was I supposed to do there? I was kinda screwed.

Then you have quite the opposite like this goofy concoction of mine. I tried to make Cowboy Bebop into a series of mindless antics and hilarity. Not a second of it is meant to be taken seriously, or convey a message.

I'm just trying to throw a little guidance your way, NSB. Don't get upset. My first dozen videos were total wastes of time and I basically keep them hidden these days. They had no aim at all. They just served to give me something to improve on, and it took a good dozen because I'm a very slow learner.

I didn't insult you, I was agreeing with Mozgus that Linkin Park is overused in YouTube AMVs.

Also, if you're going to post your video on a forum, you need to be prepared to take the criticism, constructive or not.

I thought it was poor, and I don't even watch AMVs. Or know what AMV stands for.

Nothing really syncs up and the video is a bit bland to watch.
