I put NESDS on my DS last night, good god it's awful. I guess the emulation is alright, but the interface is entirely controlled with the touchscreen, and the touchscreen simply does not work. I can't save or load states, or even change the display settings. There isn't even an .ini file where I can manually set the settings. What a half assed piece of crap.
What's the best option for NES emulation on the DS? I hear NesterDS is pretty slow. PocketNES for the GBA is still under development though, how well does it run on the DS?

Re: NESDS sucks
Does your touchscreen suck or something? I can usually navigate with my fingers decent -- even better with the stylus. Save states worked for me too.Hatta wrote:I put NESDS on my DS last night, good god it's awful. Re: NESDS sucks
No, I've been playing Bust-a-move DS with good results. It calibrates fine.
I can sometimes get menu options in NesDS to highlight, if I drag the stylus around. But the stylus is always offset from the option that's highlighted, and I can never get the option to actually activate.

Re: NESDS sucks
I'm with Niode, sounds like a outdated version. The new ones are much better.
Re: NESDS sucks
I haven't found a decent emulator of anything on the DS. Every time someone says this one runs perfect, I try it, and notice tons of problems.
Re: NESDS sucks
I've been running NESDS for almost a year now with no problems except my own dumbass user errors. What in particular is not working? Maybe try a re-install?

Re: NESDS sucks
Blah, it was my screen protector. Peeled it off, and the touchscreen still sucks, but it's functional. Still doesn't make sense when everything else works with the screen protector. But anyways, yay.

Re: NESDS sucks
I was about to agree with you Hatta, but I have a thick screeen protector too. Still, almost all the other games are working smoothly and without problems. If we're talking about the same emulator, the thing I really don't like is the scaling interface. it always messes me up and I can never scale it exactly the way I want. it's just messy to work with.
'course I shouldn't complain. The emulation is great, and I'm not in the position to make a better emulator...
