Any place to buy game cases and manuals?
Any place to buy game cases and manuals?
My roommate just purchased a PS3 off craigslist, and he got MGS4 thrown in with it. However, the game is disc only in a jewel case, no blu ray case, manual, etc. Anyone know where I can get just the case/manual? A google and ebay search didn't really warrant anything. Any help is appreciated.
PS - MGS4 is pretty awesome so far.

Hate to say it but your best option would be ebay for a case and manual only. Other than that...ask around the forum for someone that has one. Or...go to goodwill and buy a POS ps3 game jsut to say you have another game, use the case, and THEN ebay a manual? As much as I hate ebay....thats always where I have to go for manuals.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

Oh, come on, people are still throwing away case and manual for this generation's games?
Re: Any place to buy game cases and manuals?
That's what I'm wondering. I can't see people throwing away these plastic cases. It baffles me to see all the used games in gamestop that don't have the original cases.jfrost wrote:Oh, come on, people are still throwing away case and manual for this generation's games?
There's always the possibility that that MGS4 game was stolen from somewhere I guess.

found one, 9.99 with free shipping. Probably pricey, but the collector in me says it's worth it.

Sounds like you lucked out. I would have bought another copy then sold the disc only. I find that for the price you can sell a disc only game on amazon.com you can find a complete copy on ebay. I had to do that sort of thing when I bought my Wii, which came with HotD 2&3.tbeeghly wrote:found one, 9.99 with free shipping. Probably pricey, but the collector in me says it's worth it.

If you ask real nice at Gamestop they would probably give you one. I have done this successfully numerous times. If you are the nefarious type you could also tell the employee that you bought the game from another Gamestop and were given a generic case and would like an official one. Especially with a game like MGS4 this shouldn't be too difficult.
Re: Any place to buy game cases and manuals?
Either children own them or they are owned by adults who put them in cd books for storage because they don't have a lot of space/don't care about reading the manual/don't collect.jfrost wrote:Oh, come on, people are still throwing away case and manual for this generation's games?
And lets face it, if you are selling games back to gamestop or cragislist you don't really collect that much. Or if you do, it is probably collecting very specifically. Like one or two platforms.
Plus, gamestop takes games regardless of case or manual so there really isn't any intensive for the player to keep that stuff if they arn't attached to it. I bet if they gave you more for the cases we would see the disc only games cut in half at least. The whole system creates case abuse.
