Im glad there's a bit of talk about it still other than here. maybe people who have never herd of it will go seek it out and try it for themselves.
Your response should have been something along the lines of "Have you ever heard of the CD-I?"
Even so, the Dreamcast is much better than many of the mainstream consoles out there. It always confused me how everybody has nothing but praise for the N64, when they can't even name a game for every digit on one hand. (Talking about the average gamer, not the hardcore. Most gamers only liked the N64 for one game, and it started with a "G" and ended with an "Oldeneye 007".)
I didn't own a Dreamcast then, but I stopped buying consoles from the Genesis up until my GF got me a Wii for Christmas. However, I own a Dreamcast now, and love it! I just wish i had more time to play these days...Skies of Arcadia is calling...
Comics, RPG's, miniatures, and now retrogaming? I guess its time to learn to go without eating...
I bought my Dreamcast from someone in High School back in 2003/04 i think for 40 bucks (chords, one controller, system), or my Junior Year. Ive gotta say, best desision ever. And that was a good time to buy also because EB Games was still carrying dreamcast games/memo cards, so i used my lawn mowing money to pick up what i needed.
I had a friend of mine send me a copy of Project Justice, of course i had to pay him for it, and a copy of Shadowrun for Genesis also. And i still got the import MotW copy i got from him last month too. Im pretty lazy...
My little brother bought the DC just a couple of months after release and it's been alive and working until March... when I decided to buy a mint japanese one I haven't stopped playing with since

I'm not, never been And I've never really liked their games either.
Then again, I've never liked Zelda or Metroid, or Tekken, or Tomb Raider
I don't think people give the dreamcast the respect it deserves. Sure it may have been the last console sega made before they got out of hardware but it wasn't what drove it into extinction. I still own 2 dreamcasts, and a whole slew of games. (Ashamedly, most of them are backups)
