Found a sega genesis model 1 with a sega cd model 1

Post by Pookie »

So, I found a sega genesis model 1 with a sega cd model 1 for $30. Should I buy it? Or, should I wait and find a cheaper one?

The model 1s are less reliable but more sought out and therefore they command a higher price. $30 is an excellent price for the two of them. The sega cd model 1 alone goes for at least in the $60 range if its working order.

You'll get more then 60 for just the sega CD itself if its working...i'd say more around 100+....if it's not working, you'd prolly still make money. Buy it whether ot not you want to keep, it's a steal.
Somebody sell me a model 1 modchip for Saturn. Please.

SCD Model 1's are actually pretty cheap right now. A boxed Model 1 sold for $100 recently. However, I'd definitely still buy it. Even if you're just looking to flip it and make some money, idiots buy overpriced stuff out of eBay stores all the time, so I'm sure you could get $100 for the pair if they work, especially if they're in good shape or you can clean them up a bit.

I have a question for you guys! Are you guys actually people who enjoy playing games? Or, do you guys just buy and resale video game related items? It seems that a lot of people here just buy and resale games on this forum. The Oddest thing I have seen is the people who want every single game that was ported to a particular system, even if that game is horrible. I know my initial post seems like I want to flip the item, but I want the system because I never had the opportunity to own a Sega CD.

I guess each to his own :D

Yikes, the BST (Buy/Sell/Trade) stigma on this site is getting pretty bad. To your question the answer is both. The people you see posting more often in any section besides the BST one are the ones who love video games and this site. The other people who have like 4 posts and have only made an appearance in the BST section are the ones who just want to sell games. Maybe we should work on that...
