So I've started playing Samurai Legend Musashi on the PS2. The game got some flak when it came out, but it really isn't that bad(as I keep discovering, games that get a 5 or a 6 by reviewers aren't always garbage). I'm enjoying the timeless tale of a mentally handicapped young samurai with a bizarre Japanese fashion sense and the most redneck rat tail I've ever seen fend off the bad guys from Kingdom Hearts with one of Cloud's swords while a one-eyed bearded stray cat tells him what to do.
Was Brave Fencer Musashi anything like this at all? I'd heard they were related, but having not played BFM, I couldn't say. I do recall in that game he wore normal clothes, however...
The Musashi games
Re: The Musashi games
I have never played samurai legend, but the original musashi is one of the best games for the ps1. Not only is the game play quite good, with fun areas and battles, and lots of extras too do, but the game just has such a unique style that is uncomparable to anything else.
Also, Scribe Shanky rocks my world.

Re: The Musashi games
I actually thought the ps2 musashi was quite entertaining as well. It's over quickly and the abilities never really felt very important which was disappointing, because there were a lot of them.
