Xbox shumps?

Post by Jubal »

so I am in need of a few good shumps, for the xbox...

so far I have found 2, JP release only.

Psyvariar2 Extended Edition on Xbox
http://www.classicgaming.com/shmups/rev ... index.html

and

Shikigami No Shiro II
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shikigami_no_Shiro_II
http://xbox.ign.com/articles/490/490633p1.html

have there really been NO xbox US shump releases?

and if not, then what other import JP shumps should i check out?
(note: I dont understand japanese, but do have the capability to play imports)

Capcom Classic Collection 2

cool to hear about the upcoming article =)

Xyanide looks great and it actually did have a US release.

I didn't know the first Shikigama No Shiro was on the Xbox as well, both this and the 2nd one get a fairly low user review on gamespot. Do they deserve the low review or is it just a bunch of lamers posting? with so few shump options, I'll prolly end up getting it either way heh

I was flabbergasted when I saw Alien Hominid on the list, I had no idea it was on the xbox. a quick search on wikipedia showed it as an EU only release, not a shump, but I must get this one also!

thanks for the list!

Shikigami No Shiro is a very nice looking game. You play a human character who shoots the regular shots but if you hold down the button it creats an Avatar that takes off and whoops arse. The backgrounds rotate and stuff while you're flying over them, it's not terribly difficult but it's pretty challenging with some of the weaker characters. If you're the guy who's Avatar is an Angel then you'll breeze through.

Will Geometry Wars work independently of Project Gotham 2 (on a modded Xbox)? I can never be bothered to load that up to get a quick game in. Would be nice to have GW on its own to run from the hard drive.
