Re: RPGs(Pen & Paper)
Any one have good character stories/campaign stories? Ive got some but I dont want to flood the topic, but I will tell you about one of my characters that Ack let me play in a one shot D&D campaign a couple years ago. My good old Half Giant rogue who bag stabbed both with a tree and a halfing. He expected the tree, but when I took the teammate halfing and smashed him into the enemy his response was simply "fuck it, were done here."
Re: RPGs(Pen & Paper)
I'd totally forgotten about that campaign. I also remember one night where Fast was allowed to guest DM, and the party was subsequently eaten by chocolate bunnies.
Re: RPGs(Pen & Paper)
Yeaaahhhhh I remember that night. I really really miss good campaigns. If I had more books I'd just do my own.
Re: RPGs(Pen & Paper)
I wish I was young again to play D&D but now I just don't make time for it. Started with 2nd edition and miss those years. i picked up a couple of the newer books when gary died but haven't even thumbed through them... someday though when I retire it'll be all pen and paper, video games, and card games. i can't wait.

Re: RPGs(Pen & Paper)
Have the basic game of D&D, along with a copy of D&D for Dummies.
But...
A) I don't know a lot of other D&D players in my area
B) I'd much rather get into Shadowrun
I first fell in love with Shadowrun by way of the Super NES game. Now, I figure that while Shadowrun isn't as popular and well-known as D&D, I figure that this only means a tighter-knit community. While D&D has a wide fanbase (and fans in everyone from the guys of Panic! At the Disco to the likes of Matthew Lillard and Vin Diesel), Shadowrun is more intimate, more room to grow, combines the best of sci-fi and fantasy, and appeals to my love for more esoteric works.
Anyone try the fanmade "Dragon Warrior" D&D system?

Re: RPGs(Pen & Paper)
I wasnt a guest DM. It was a 3.5 campaign and the DM let me play a AD&D Jester Mage who knew he had a wonder item. The DM should have known better - but could not figure out a better way to get one of the MIA players back into the game.
Re: RPGs(Pen & Paper)
I haven't played much recently, though not for lack of interest. I've been involved in an on-line V&V campaign but that's it. I started with AD&D 2E (via the Gold Box games, no less) and have since purchased a number of fantastic games I haven't had, and likely will never have, a chance to play. Like Fuzion-based games - Sengoku, Bubblegum Crisis, Votoms, Artesia.
Re: RPGs(Pen & Paper)
Old Shadowrun is better than the new edition purely on a themetic basis. Wired>wireless because cyberpunk is supose to be 80s as hell. Is themetic a word?
